This is the aftermath of a power surge with nowhere for the surge to safely dissipate.
No earth stake was located at this property, which ultimately contributed to a burnt-out hot water system and a switchboard that was left hot and smoking. 😱⚡
Thankfully, the Fire Brigade, Ausgrid and the Arcs N Sparks team worked together to make the property safe and ensure the immediate electrical hazards were addressed.
This is a serious reminder of why a correctly installed and maintained earthing system is so important. A properly functioning earth system provides a safe path for fault and surge currents to dissipate, helping protect your electrical installation and appliances.
