Paint on the hinges? Absolutely not.
“One coat should do it”? Get out. 🚪😂

I’m the painter who’ll spot the tiny imperfection from across the room… fix it… then stand there staring at it for another five minutes just to make sure.

Slightly obsessive. Highly particular. Proudly fussy.

Because “that’ll do” doesn’t do it for me.

🎬 Deck Restoration Series – The Cliffhanger (Almost the Final Episode!)

We finally made it… or so I thought! 😅

This project has had everything:
🌧️ Torrential rain.
💨 Wild winds.
🔩 Stripped screws.
🥵 And the small matter of carrying eight bearers up seven levels of fire stairs. Who needs a gym membership?

The decking is down, and I was ready for the victory lap… until I discovered I had 500 screws left to install and the entire building industry had apparently agreed to retire square drive screws at the exact moment I needed them! 🤦‍♀️

After a statewide treasure hunt, we finally found a supplier and placed the order.

So stay tuned for the final, final episode… where, assuming no new plot twists appear, this saga will finally come to an end! 🍿🔨

🎬 Episode 4: Accurate weather report or deck update? 🌧️🪵

At this point, I’m not sure if I’m rebuilding a deck or auditioning as the local weather reporter… 🌦️

It’s been days and days of rain, with only the occasional burst of safe, productive work. But we’re slowly getting there!

Another completely rotten bearer has been removed, and now comes the suspense… what hidden surprises are lurking beneath the remaining decking boards? 👀

🎬 Episode 3: The Beauty of Fresh New Bearers…

After battling stripped screws and hauling 4m bearers up 9 flights of stairs (my gym membership has officially been cancelled 😅), the tide has finally turned.

Two brand-new bearers are now in place, creating a solid foundation for everyone who walks across this deck. One step closer to bringing this deck back to life!
