13 years. It’s hard to believe. In September 2013, DAYTODAY began as a dream between my wife and me.
We didn’t know exactly where that dream would take us. We just knew we wanted to build something we could be proud of.

13 years later, I look at what DAYTODAY has become, and more than anything, I feel grateful.

To our team - thank you for your hard work, loyalty, and for caring about what we are building.

To our clients - thank you for trusting us with your properties, recommending us, supporting us, and giving us the opportunities that have allowed us to grow.

To my wife - you were there before the team, before hundreds of properties, before the awards and the growth. Thank you for believing in me and standing beside me through every high and low, and for putting up with all the crazy ideas along the way. 😄

And to my family - thank you for your patience, and for somehow learning to share me with DAYTODAY. 😄

Building a business takes sacrifice, and I know that sacrifice hasn't only been mine. So today isn't about celebrating what I have achieved. It's about being grateful for what we have built together.

A speed hump might seem like a simple piece of infrastructure — but getting it right matters. At this commercial property in Somersby on the Central Coast, our Repairs & Maintenance team was engaged to replace a damaged speed hump within the car park.

When speed humps become loose, cracked or badly worn, they can create more than an appearance issue. They can become a trip hazard, damage vehicles and, most importantly, stop doing the job they were installed for - controlling vehicle speed and improving safety.

Before replacement, the team measured the existing installation and positioning to ensure the new speed hump was correctly sized, aligned and securely installed.

It’s a relatively small maintenance item, but these are often the things that make a property safer, better presented and properly maintained.

Preventative maintenance doesn’t always involve major projects. Sometimes, addressing the small things early prevents them from becoming bigger problems later.

One of the biggest mistakes in garden maintenance is waiting until the hot weather arrives before preparing for it.

Late winter and early spring are an important time to get ahead:
✔️ Managing w**ds
✔️ Refreshing mulch
✔️ Improving soil conditions
✔️ Fertilising where required
✔️ And making sure garden beds are ready for the warmer and drier months ahead.

For strata properties, this proactive approach can make a noticeable difference. It helps gardens retain moisture, reduces w**d growth and gives plants a much better chance of staying healthy through summer.

So, this is Steve. Someone who has played an incredibly important part in the DAYTODAY journey since 2020. Initially, Steve worked as a junior member of our Sydney's Cleaning Division, working closely with the division manager at the time. When that position became available, it created a vacuum. Steve saw the opportunity, put his hand up and offered to step in.

I took him up on his offer. Best decision I made!

Since then, I’ve watched Steve shine. Like a diamond being polished, one layer at a time, he has continued to grow, improve and become better and better at what he does.

He has been nothing but supportive, professional and reliable.

A man with so many trades under his hat. Nothing is too hard, and there’s nothing he won’t give a go. Throw an issue at him, and somehow, he’ll make it disappear.

I first met Rima in 2009, during a very different chapter of my life, when I was working as the Executive Chef and F&B Manager of a hotel in Sydney. I hired Rima as a Breakfast Supervisor, and immediately I knew there was something special about her. A different type of individual.
Neither of us could have known then that, more than 17 years later, we would still be working side by side.

Rima joined DAYTODAY in 2019, when I asked her if she could help me with some admin work behind the scenes. Since then, as the years have gone by, Rima has proven herself again and again. She took on more and more responsibility, improved systems, pretty much worked her butt off, and eventually became our Office Manager.

But for me, this one is more personal than a job title.

Through different jobs, different chapters, and eventually the journey of building DAYTODAY, Rima has been there.

There is something pretty special about building a business alongside people who have been part of your journey long before the business even existed.

Today, more than 17 years after we sat in that hotel bar during a job interview, I can still see that same woman in front of me. Ambitious, motivated, thorough, energetic, loyal, dedicated and hardworking.

A core made of steel.

What started as a simple idea 12 months ago is now being used across hundreds of properties, and has become an award-nominated innovation. We wanted to create a better way for our teams to record their work, while giving our clients clear and immediate visibility of what’s happening at their properties.

The result was our Live Scope of Work Status system.

Each property has a unique QR code that allows our teams to record completed scope items in real time, while strata managers and committees can access their own portal to see what’s been completed, including up to six months of service history.

No chasing emails. No waiting for reports. Just clear visibility of what was completed and when.

For our teams, it creates greater accountability and consistency. For our clients, it provides transparency and confidence in the service they’re receiving.

It’s been great to see what started as a relatively simple idea become part of how we operate every day.

Innovation doesn’t always have to be complicated. Sometimes it’s simply about finding a better way of doing things.
