Lightspeed Electrical delivered a full-scale electrical and communications fit-out for NEX Building Group’s Newcastle office, working alongside Insight Building Services.
This was a complete new installation designed for performance, scalability, and clean ex*****on.

We installed over 160 data points supported by a CAT6A backbone, providing high-bandwidth capacity for modern wireless networks and future growth. The workspace was set up for reliable, high-speed connectivity across all areas—no dead zones, no bottlenecks.

On the electrical side, we delivered all new power and lighting circuits, tailored to the revised layout. This included general lighting upgrades and feature lighting, balancing compliance with a sharp, functional finish.
A key highlight was the integration of 30 automated blinds, giving the client seamless control over light, privacy, and comfort.

The system was designed to be simple to use but robust enough for day-to-day operation.
Externally, we installed 30 metres of floodlighting and signage illumination, ensuring the building presence matched the quality of the internal fit-out.

Wrapped up a full office fit-out with Nex Building Group. Started from a complete strip-out, then brought everything together into one clean system across multiple tenancies.

Most of the work here was in the coordination lighting, power, and data all had to line up properly, especially in open-plan areas. Things like under-carpet ducting and sensor lighting only work well if they’re planned right from the start.

Commercial electrician service on projects like this is less about speed and more about getting the details right early. When you’re working around finished joinery, curved walls, and live offices, there’s no room for shortcuts. Most issues I see later come from rushed planning, not bad installs. If the electrical side is thought through properly, the space just works day to day without anyone noticing why.

was one of those jobs where lighting wasn’t just “fit and go.” Most of the time went into set-outs and coordination because of the curved walls and joinery.

Custom lighting like this looks clean only if everything lines up perfectly otherwise you see every mistake. The automation helped keep the space flexible, but the real challenge was making the light feel continuous without overpowering the architecture.

When it’s done right, you don’t notice the electrical work it just feels right in the space.
