About 5 years ago I took some time away from carpentry alone and focused on further expanding my building knowledge, managing projects for some of the top builders. During the course of this time while working for Probuilt Projects, we won the Master Builders Award 2x years in a row and I successfully handed over multiple projects and worked on the houses featured in the awards 👍

What I learnt from the top builders is a successful building project involves seamless delivery, proper communication, attention to detail and knowledge and commitment to your project. When it comes to finer details, sometimes we have to take into account the surrounding elements. On this particular job, we had to install blackbutt battons onto a frame which was fixed into a thin 70mm wall of finished concrete. 5mm too much and the finish could crack and be ruined. Here at Built by CJ we work with the utmost care and take into consideration all aspects before beginning work. The client was very happy we were able to incorporate this into their very expensive custom concrete barbecue area and complete the job meticulously 👍

Another custom door for one of my lovely regular clients, finished colour in ‘Stepney’ by dulux to match the neutral colours of the house with a traditional door handle as requested by the client 🤩

Heres a little more insight about the business!
Chris, our director and Carpenter has been in the industry for 14 years, starting out renovating properties with his father from age 16 on school holidays. After finishing and leaving school, Chris worked across the board doing tiling, painting and decorating, concreting, landscaping and almost all areas of building.

Chris then focused on carpentry, complete his cert IV in carpentry and certificate IV in building and construction to then go on and become lead carpenter, supervise and manage building projects for the top builders in Sydney, furthering his knowledge and experience in the building game. Chris then went out on his own last year and started his own business, with a great first year and many happy clients. Built by CJ is resdy to expand and grow further and do some more great work across the Sydney area 👍
