Just a small Eco Deck job, but it’s the little details that make it pop.

Each cut on this job had to be pulled off with precision, from double scribes to mitred edges. A fair few tricks of the trade were used to get the finish on this one.

Doesn’t matter how big or small the job is, we treat every deck like it’s going in our own backyard.

This job is a throwback to my apprentice days , where i had the pleasure to be taught by one of the best chippies I know.

Some of the lessons that I carry to this day are as follows.

Before a single board goes down, the real works already started.

Decking’s all in the prep. Set out, levels, framing, get that wrong and you’re chasing it the whole way.

Take the time to plan it right, so every board lines up, spacings stay even, screw lines match, if you have to take off a couple mill do it. The finish speaks for itself.

Anyone can throw together a deck but you can always tell when it’s done by a professional.
