I know I have been extremely quiet on my socials for a long period. This is due to a quite serious accident that I am still trying to recover from. We hope to be back on the tools at some capacity in the future, but my body has to repair.

With all the current rainfall we have had, we have been inundated with calls for blocked drains and yards flooding. Most drains have had major tree root blockages and others that have been full of silt and debris. I always recommend a programmed maintenance schedule for drains to camera inspect and clean out to minimise flooding with the rainfall we are currently experiencing. This is why it’s never a good idea to put grease, oils or fats down your drains. Continual disposal down the sink will eventually cause a major blockage in the pipes and will require it to be cleared. If the kitchen isn’t protected by a surcharge gully, it can be quite difficult to access from outside and as you can see would cause a bit of mess if done from inside the house.

After completing a recent sewer rebuild at a set of factory units, we pressured cleaned where we had been working and taking machines over the concrete. The client asked us if we could pressure clean the entire complex. It was completed over 2 weekends so not to interrupt staff and customers in the car park. Amazing difference it has made, almost looks like new concrete.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks with hot water. Colder weather tends to put a lot more pressure on your hot water tank with the higher demand for showers. Betterflo will always look at the best options for your household with the best hot water heaters available. We highly recommend rheem brand systems and currently using the stainless steel tank option. Here is a couple of clients that have upgraded to a better tank for their household. The gas option is a 5 star 340L first hour delivery with a 185l recovery rate. Both gas and electric tanks come with a 12 year cylinder warranty.
If you are seeing brown or discoloured water coming through your hot taps, your heater is showing signs of rust buildup and time to replace the tank.

With the colder months approaching and the high demand on hot water, older tanks are put under pressure and can sometimes fail or burst. Generally the first sign of your tank showing its age is brown/ dirty water from the hot tap, this is rust build up inside the tank.
We always aim for same day hot water changeovers and repairs, and are up to date with all the latest regulations.
This electric had seen better days, a new system installed, and as the electrical code has changed, an isolator installed next to the system and a rcd upgrade in the meter box.
