With winter fast approaching, it's a good time to check if your hot water heater is functioning properly. A system that needs replacing could be costing you money.

Here are some things to look out for:
💧Leaks, or visible cracks on the unit
💧Higher than usual utility bills
💧Fluctuating temperature or hot water not lasting very long
💧Rusty or discoloured water - this could indicate internal corrosion
💧Most hot water heaters have a lifespan of around 10-15 years - so if yours is older than this, it may need replacing

Winter is coming, and with the colder weather, it's important your hot water heater is functioning optimally.

How do I know if my hot water heater isn't working?

⭐️If your hot water heater is over 15 years old - it is nearing the end of its lifespan so will likely need replacing
⭐️ Check your utility bills. Older systems use a lot more energy leading to higher gas or electricity bills
⭐️ Leaking and/or rust on the unit. This is a big indicator your appliance needs replacing
⭐️ Inconsistent water temperature or hot water running out too quickly
⭐️ Smelly, murky or rusty water
