A pretty exciting milestone for me personally and for our business.

I’ve been invited by to visit their global headquarters in San Marcos, California, along with their state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Mexico.

is a world leader in irrigation, so being given the opportunity to see firsthand how they operate, innovate and manufacture at the highest level is something I’m incredibly grateful for.

Going out on my own 2.5 years ago was a huge leap of faith. Like most small businesses, there’s been plenty of long days, stress, sacrifice, blood, sweat and tears behind the scenes to get to where we are today. Opportunities like this make you stop for a second and realise how far things have come.

I’m proud of what we’re building at Lacey Irrigation Services and very thankful for the support of our clients, suppliers, family and friends along the way.

A massive shout out as well to the rest of the Lacey Irrigation team for holding the fort while I’m away. Having a team you can trust makes opportunities like this possible.

Looking forward to learning as much as I can and bringing that knowledge back home.

That’s a wrap on another big year for Lacey Irrigation Services 💧

So proud of how far the business has come and grateful for everyone who supported us along the way.

We’ll be taking a short break and will be out of office until Jan 12th, before kicking off the next 12 months refreshed and excited for what’s ahead.

With two of us now on board it’s double the work in half the time.

It’s been a massive week with a couple of great additions, 1st off Trent has now started and integrated seamlessly, it’s been all of 4 days and we are already in tune and humming along, secondly we’ve added a tipper to the fleet, means we can get all the equipment we need to site in 1 go, great little truck. We’ve been finishing off a job in Portsea that started as a few repairs and turned into pretty much a full rebuild, location on about 12 valves that had been buried for years, the systems had a hard life of bore water full of iron. Luckily sorted out that and now we’ve brought the system back to life. Lastly a call came in today which pretty much made the last couple of years all worth it, not a massive job but one that confirms that I made the right decision. Loving the growth of the business at the moment, so much more to come.

Following the exiting news, I have a public service announcement. The photo included in this post shows why there is such thing as an irrigation professional, these “repairs” were made by someone pertaining to “know” irrigation. Just like I wouldn’t hire myself to pour a slab or you wouldn’t ask a chippy to wire your house, please remember that irrigation isn’t just putting some pipes in the ground. These repairs now add up to about 2 days of my time tracing tracking and digging. I have now figured out what has happened and will be able to fix it, but that’s still a decent job. Just like any other trade even though we aren’t “licenced” as such make sure you use a professional irrigation installer.

Trent brings 13 years of industry experience, including 11 years working directly alongside me. His expertise, especially with some of the more complex irrigation systems, means he’s one of the best in the business.
