This is Hayden our apprentice doing one of the most important jobs when restoring a roof.

Weep holes provide a release path for water that infiltrates behind the ridge capping due to cracked cement or tile failure, acting as a critical safety feature.

Preventing Leaks: Without these holes, water can collect behind the ridge, eventually leading to staining, leaks, and damage to the ceiling, especially after heavy, extended rainfall.

Industry practice for roofing requires small gaps (6.5mm diameter) in ridge pointing. These should be present at 300mm intervals to allow moisture to escape
