Launched in 1998 and based in the Barossa Valley, company director Jamie Gladigau recognised that good building design shouldn't be limited to cities and metropolitan areas, and that Australia's regions equally deserve to celebrate their lifestyle and environment through exceptional design. JBG Architects provides innovative and practical solutions for building design and budget challenges, working on residential, winery, commercial, environmental and heritage projects.

It is a privilege to have worked with some of the restaurants recognised in the inaugural Michelin Guide South Australia, and to have designed spaces that complement their distinctive food, w**e, and hospitality experiences.

Congratulations to our clients including and on receiving one Michelin star, and to **es and on being selected for the Michelin Guide.

We are also excited to see Kingsford The Barossa included in the Michelin Guide for both their hotel and restaurant experiences.

It is wonderful that their dedication and passion have been celebrated on this stage.

Working to a specific design and site brief, this home captures the essence of rural Barossa living.

Framing elevated views across verdant hills, this off-grid home was designed for sustainability, without compromising on style or quality.

Inside and out, every detail was carefully resolved to create a bespoke home for our clients, from a north-facing “grand room” and polished concrete floors to double-glazed windows and outdoor areas protected by skillion roofing.

On the exterior, natural limestone encases the walls, while hardwood exposed beams support the dramatic roofline.

Designed in 2018, this home continues to embody a contemporary country lodge aesthetic.

Designing spaces that inspire curiosity, creativity and connection from the very beginning.

Completed in time to welcome Term 2 students, JBG Architects worked with St Michael's Primary School in Hahndorf to design its new Early Learning Centre, including the interior spaces.

The school calls it “a place to wonder, discover and belong.”

A rewarding project that benefits students, their families, and the wider Adelaide Hills community.

Celebrating Barossa w**e and the people behind it!

At the recent 2026 Barossa W**e Show, Jamie Gladigau presented with the JBG Architects Trophy for Best Red W**e, Other Varieties, awarded to their 2024 Single Vineyard Selection Malbec.

Our sponsorship of this trophy reflects JBG Architects' long-standing connection to the Barossa w**e industry in the design of w**eries and cellar doors across the region.

Congratulations to the team at Thorn-Clarke W**es on their win, and to **es on a superb celebration marking the 50th Barossa W**e Show.

When our clients bought a classic cream-brick ‘doer-upper’ on a large corner block in Kapunda, their vision was to transform it into a calming, private escape.

With plans for a substantial Mediterranean garden, considered indoor-outdoor living was a priority. Inside, a gourmet kitchen, north-facing living spaces, sophisticated bathrooms and bespoke joinery were meticulously designed.

Over the years, the garden has matured, wisteria now trails over the verandah, and the home has evolved into the peaceful retreat its owners originally set out to create.

From run-down cottage to cosy Yorke Peninsula escape.

This project began with our client’s desire to rescue a crumbling 1890s cottage into a tiny weekend getaway.

We brought new life to the cottage with modern amenities (think a working kitchen and bathroom) while making it comfortable and welcoming for weekends away.

The result is a practical transformation that feels warm, functional and connected to its setting.

Swipe for before and after reveals.
