✨ Winter Tip✨

Did you know that Winter is the ideal time to use stain removal treatments. The majority of stain removal treatments require a low chlorine level, a low pH and your equipment turned off while using the stain treatment. Remember to always test the product on a smaller area first.
Once stains are “lifted” the stain source is effectively been put back “into solution” so you want to keep it there and ideally filter it out with a clarifier.
You can also add additional products such as a Metal Remover that helps keep the trace metals/minerals in solution for long enough to be filtered.
After a treatment you should then backwash or clean filter the cartridge filter and re-balance your pool.

🌧 After the heavy rain, your pool will need extra care to ensure it is safe and healthy 🌧

Rain heavily dilutes chemicals, especially chlorine and salt.
We recommend that you use extra chlorine, even if you have a salt chlorinator, to prevent the levels dropping too low and to minimise the risk of an algae bloom 🤢

Bring a water sample into Taree Pool Supplies and we can analyse it and advise, what you need to get your pool water balanced and sparkling quickly ✨

Check that none of your electrical equipment (e.g Pump, Chlorinator) have been damaged by the weather. If a safety issue has been presented, contact a professional right away.

☔️☔️ Wet Weather Tips! ☔️☔️

☑️ Monitor your water level, if there is enough rain your pool could overflow. If you have a “Waste” or “Backwash” line, you can drain a little water off as the pool gets full.

☑️ Test your water and treat your pool immediately after the rain stops.

Just because your pool water is clear after a storm doesn’t mean that your chemistry is correct. It is very important to get your water back in balance immediately to prevent damage to your pool surface and pool equipment.

Rain is acidic and will lower your pH and Alkalinity. If the pH drops too low, the water in your pool will become acidic (low pH generally makes the water look really clear), but will start to deteriorate your pool surface and damage your pool equipment.

Keep in mind we aren’t just dealing with rain from the sky but also runoff from your roof, patio, landscaping, etc. which can also carry a wide variety of contaminants that will affect your water chemistry in many different ways.
