Following the latest public health advice, Western Australia's controlled interstate border is set to be safely adjusted, pending no further outbreaks, with quarantine-free travel from Queensland to be permitted from 12.01am Friday, 22 October.
At that time, Queensland will safely transition from 'low risk' to 'very low risk'. Under the 'very low risk' settings, safe travel is permitted into WA subject to the following conditions:
- Completion of a G2G Pass declaration before travel, stipulating the traveller does not have any COVID-19 symptoms and which jurisdictions they have visited in the previous 14 days;
- All Perth Airport arrivals to undergo a health screening; and
- Travellers must be prepared to take a COVID-19 test, if deemed necessary by a health clinician (voluntary asymptomatic testing also available)
Land arrivals will be met at the border checkpoint for a health screening and to have their G2G Pass declaration checked.
The Australian Capital Territory remains classified as a ‘medium risk’ jurisdiction, while Victoria and New South Wales both remain classified as ‘extreme risk’ jurisdictions.
