Somewhere between running a business, raising kids and keeping up with everything else, it's easy to stop doing things just for yourself.
A few weeks ago, long after both our houses had gone quiet, my friend Chrissie sent me a message. "This looks terrifying, but I want to do it. Will you do it with me?"
The Q1 Stair Challenge. 77 floors. 1,331 stairs. Straight up the Q1 on the Gold Coast.
From bed, it sounded like a great idea...
And unlike most of our questionable ideas, we've actually trained for this one. Stairs, hills, whatever we could find. Mostly sent to each other as proof we'd actually done it.
We're two weeks out now.
We're doing it because we're mums who want to feel like we can do hard things. Something that's ours, something we chose, and something we'll hopefully feel pretty bloody proud of when we get to the top.
Along the way, we're raising money for LIVIN and their work in mental health, a cause that means more to us than I'll probably put into an Instagram caption.
If you'd like to get behind us, the link's in the bio.
See you on the other side of 1,331 stairs.
