That’s a wrap for 2021. After a year of early starts and late finishes it time to enjoy Christmas and a break.

Do you own an old home? Homes built before the 1960’s may have been wired in black rubber cable which can deteriorate with age. This was in a home in Toowoomba built in the 1950’s. This is one of the worst cases of deterioration of un-disturbed cabling I have come across. This was a major fire risk and was all removed and re-wired.
If you are in doubt please call to have your electrical installations checked.

Smoke detectors in the home are vital but they have a 10 year life cycle. Be sure to check the date of expiry and ensure to change the batteries yearly. Found one today that was 10 years out of date.

The Queensland Electrical Safety Office has issued a recall on the following safety switches. It would pay to have a look in your home power box to see if you have one. It is Dielle brand. These are NOT a brand I use however if you have any concerns or would like your power box checked please give me a call. 0478065211

Sunday morning special. Rodent nest caused a fire in a property switchboard. Murdoch Electrical was able to get the customer back on line the same day. This highlights the dangers of electricity. The nest was behind the panel and would not have been visible. Get a health check on your electrical installation or call for any of your other electrical requirements.
