⚡🏡 NEW VICTORIAN RENTAL STANDARDS ARE COMING IN 2027!
From 1 March 2027, new energy efficiency standards will begin rolling out across Victorian rental properties.
Here's what's changing 👇
🔥 Heating: Failed heaters must be replaced with energy-efficient electric heating.
💧 Hot Water: Failed systems must be replaced with energy-efficient electric alternatives, such as heat pumps.
🚿 Showerheads: Minimum 4-star WELS water efficiency rating required.
🏠 Ceiling Insulation: Insulation required in uninsulated or partially insulated ceilings when applicable tenancy changes occur.
❄️ Cooling: Energy-efficient fixed cooling required for new leases from March 2027, extending to all rentals by July 2030.
🌬️ Draughtproofing: From July 2027, draughtproofing requirements apply to external doors, windows and unsealed wall vents at applicable tenancy changes.
