🍂 There’s something about autumn that just hits different in the garden! Crisp mornings, warm arvos, and everything starts to slow down a notch.

It’s that time of year where all the hard work over the Spring/Summer season’s really starts to pay off! addict.studio

⛳️ Are you planning to install a new lawn? This post is for you! ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Ever wondered why your turf level drops over time?

❌ The biggest mistake when prepping for turf is finishing their soil/prep 15-20mm lower than your concrete/pavement to allow turf to finish flush.

✅ The correct installation practices & avoid sinkage is to finishing soil prep level with pavement or up to max 8mm tolerance, making sure edges are compacted by stepping along edges!

Due to no machine access to backyard we laid new Tif tuf on the existing. Here are the steps that were taken to fix levels & prep for new turf.

1. Hard scarify back to dirt x 3 passes
2. Rack up clippings & clean up with rotary mower
3. Top up with sand & level
4. Lay new turf
✨Only recommend this process if relaying same for same turf

After lawn is established & want to reduce HOC, it’s easier to do so with a hard scalp or at reno stage rather than top dressing to bring levels esp in this instance where turf levels had dropped 30-40mmaddict.studio
