The roof is the one thing most people don't think about until they have to.

This one needed a proper clean before anything else went near it. Years of grim, dirt, and weathering. You can't paint over that and expect it to hold. So we didn't.

Clean it right, prep it right, then paint it. The sequence matters as much as the product.

Now it's sealed, protected, and looking the way it should. One less thing to worry about for the next decade. 📍

Old buildings have stories. This one on Sturt Street is one of those jobs that's hard to capture in a few photos.

What you're seeing is a handful of the offices we painted inside a large commercial space, which sits inside one of the bigger buildings in the CBD. Downstairs alone had 17 or more offices. We also painted the inside of 4K1G, which is in the same building.

Proper prep, proper process, and a result that holds up. Commercial work in the city is a big part of what we do. Has been for a long time. ✅

Some jobs you finish and move on. Others you drive past for years and still smile.

Pizza Riviera is one of those. We painted this one back a few years ago and it's still one of our favourites.The brief had personality, the client had vision, and we got to be part of something that's become part of the Townsville landscape.

If you've lived here long enough, you know the place. A proper Townsville institution.

We love that our work is woven into this city. That's not something you take for granted. 🎨

A few months ago, Christian and I got on a plane to Brisbane.

We'd been looking at epoxy suppliers for a while. Plenty of options out there, and a lot of them look the same on paper. So we went and saw APC All Purpose Coatings in person. Their showroom, their team, their product.

We did hands-on application training while we were there. Because epoxy isn't paint. The prep, the ratios, the conditions, the timing. There's a science to it, and if any part of the process gets skipped, the floor will tell you eventually.

APC runs full systems. Ultra Flake, Hyper Flake, Grip Finish, Matrix. Garage floors, carports, pool surrounds, entertainment areas, kitchens, commercial spaces, schools. If it's a floor, there's a system for it.

We don't put our name on things we haven't done properly. That's why we went. ✅

Older homes are a different beast.

The bones are usually great, but the surfaces have had decades of sun, moisture, and whatever the previous painters left behind. You can't just roll over the top and hope for the best. We don't.

This one was a full internal and external repaint for some wonderful clients we've had for years. In fact, we were the ones who painted it last time too. That's the kind of relationship we love. They don't call around for quotes, they just call us.

Every surface assessed, prepped properly, and painted to last. Not just to look good on handover day, but to still look good in five years.

That's the difference between a paint job and a proper paint job. ✅

Done properly, an epoxy floor should outlast most things in the building.

We're talking 10 to 20 years with the right system, the right prep, and reasonable maintenance. That's not a sales pitch, that's just the chemistry. A fully cured epoxy coating is hard, non-porous, and resistant to most of what gets thrown at it.

Done badly, it peels in 12 months. Sometimes less.

The difference is almost never the product. It's the process. Wrong ratios, rushed cure time, moisture in the slab, inadequate surface prep. Any one of those will shorten the life of the floor significantly.

We went to Brisbane and trained specifically so we could get this right from the first job. That's the only way we know how to do it. 🎨

The client picked Granite (S) on N23 Neutral Grey. Such a good choice.

We ground the floor back first, then put down a full 5-coat APC Hyper Flake system. That's not a quick job. That's a proper one.

Full cure takes up to 7 days. You can't rush it. The chemistry doesn't care about your timeline.

By the time it was done, the floor looked so good the client asked us to paint the entire garage to match. That's the thing about doing it right the first time. It tends to snowball.

Easy to clean, tough as anything, and it'll still look like this in 10 years. Photos honestly don't do it justice. ✅
