The Prefect Job - HVAC & Refrigeration Technician
Millair Climate Control & Electrical is growing, and we're looking for a qualified HVAC & Refrigeration Technician to join our Townsville & Darwin teams.
We work across a wide range of sites including schools, hospitals, commercial buildings, community facilities, residential properties and government sites throughout North Queensland. No two days are the same, and you'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of HVAC and refrigeration systems with a supportive team behind you.
About the Role
This role would suit a technician who enjoys fault finding, service work, preventative maintenance, repairs and the occasional project or installation job.
You'll be working across both a vast range of commercial and some residential sites, helping keep our clients cool while being supported by a team that values quality work, good communication and ongoing training.
We’re looking for someone who takes a proactive approach to their work — someone who doesn’t just fix the immediate issue, but looks for the root cause, identifies potential problems early, and helps prevent repeat breakdowns.
What You'll Be Doing
• Diagnosing and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems, including DX, chilled water and refrigeration equipment
• Carrying out preventative maintenance and inspections across a wide range of systems
• Completing repairs, minor project works and installations as required
• Attending service calls and breakdowns
• Completing service reports, timesheets and job notes in AroFlo
• Working safely and professionally on site
• Participating in the after-hours call-out roster when scheduled
What We're Looking For
• Experience preferred, but not essential if you're keen to learn
• Trade qualification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
• ARCtick licence — essential
• QLD Restricted Electrical Licence, or willingness to obtain
• Blue Card, or willingness to obtain
• Commercial HVAC+R
• Good fault-finding skills and a practical approach to problem solving
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude
• Australian work rights are required for this position
