It's Friday Fun Fact time — and today we're celebrating one of Australia's most iconic (and misunderstood) birds. 🌸

The galah might have a reputation as the class clown of the bird world, but they're actually highly intelligent, incredibly social, and mate for life. Not so silly after all.

Whether they're brightening up your backyard in real life or in weathering steel — we reckon the galah deserves a little more credit. 😄

“Lovely lyrebird to compete with the wild ones we have in our yard from time to time.” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We genuinely cannot think of a better compliment than this.

A steel lyrebird holding its own among the real ones in a bushland garden — that’s exactly the kind of home our pieces deserve.

Thank you for sharing this one with us. It made our whole day. 🖤

A little behind the scenes from the workshop this week. 🔧

We’ve been running our original laser since 2022 — it’s cut thousands of signs, garden art pieces, memorials and everything in between. But it was time for an upgrade, and we couldn’t be more excited about what this means for our capacity going forward.

Same small team. Same Adelaide Hills workshop. Same care that goes into every single piece.

Just a whole lot more capability to keep up with you all. 😄🖤

In flight, against a backdrop of Australian bush and big open sky. 🖤

We reckon this Black Cockatoo looks just as at home in steel as it does in the wild. The placement against that landscape is absolutely stunning — thank you for sharing this one with us (and ideal as our Bird of the Month).

🦜 October's Bird of the Month is here — and it's one that never fails to make an entrance.

The Cockatoo.

Loud, bold, and completely magnificent — whether you love the haunting cry of a black cockatoo at dusk or the cheeky charm of a sulphur-crested swooping through the garden, there's no bird quite like it.

We've got a variety of cockatoo designs to choose from — wall art, garden stakes, tree spikes, house number plaques, property signs, and more there's something for every space and every budget.

We have some exciting news to share! 🎉

First up — Jesse & I are taking a little break this week (hello from sunny Darwin!) Don't worry though, our amazing team are holding down the fort and will be looking after you while we're away.

And secondly — the big news. The week of 5 October, we'll be installing a brand new laser cutter! 🙌

This has been a long time coming and we are SO excited (it's been a long couple of months rearranging the warehouse so it can fit!) There will be a small production delay that week (along with the public holiday here in SA) as we get everything set up, and we appreciate your patience while we do — but trust us, it's going to be worth it.

Stay tuned — we'll be sharing all the excitement as it happens! 👀

One of our favourite parts of this job is the fully custom orders — the ones where a customer comes to us with an idea, and we get to bring it to life in steel.

No two are ever the same. And every single one makes us a little bit proud. 🙏

We've been busy lately, and we wanted to share a few recent pieces that we think are worth showing off — not just because they look incredible, but because we hope they spark an idea or two for you.
