Operations Managers rarely ask for recruitment. They ask for stability, productivity and people who turn up.

Recruitment is simply one lever that protects operational continuity. When viewed that way, every hiring decision becomes a business decision.

The strongest workforce partnerships are built around performance, not transactions.

Twenty years on industrial sites changes the way you think.

It changes what you notice, the questions you ask, and ultimately how you approach workforce decisions.

After more than twenty years working alongside WA manufacturers, logistics operators and industrial businesses, we know that successful recruitment starts with understanding what is actually happening on the ground.

You can read a job description, review a CV and have a good interview, but none of those things tell you everything you need to know about the environment someone is stepping into. The pace of the site, the culture of the team, the leadership style, the pressures on supervisors and the realities of the role all play a part in whether someone will genuinely succeed.

And when the wrong hire is made, the impact extends well beyond the vacancy. Production can slow, supervisors carry additional pressure, overtime increases and workforce instability starts to affect the wider business.

That is why we don't see recruitment as simply filling a position. It is a workforce decision with a direct impact on operational performance.

Twenty years on site has taught us to look beyond the job description.

That's the conversation we believe industrial leaders should be having.

FIFO influences far more than the mining sector. It shapes hiring decisions across Perth's manufacturing and industrial businesses every day.

Experienced industrial employers understand that attracting and retaining people means competing with wages, roster and lifestyle choices that extend well beyond their own industry.

Understanding these market dynamics is just as important as understanding candidates. Great workforce planning starts with understanding Western Australia.

A role is more than a list of responsibilities.

Behind every position is an environment, a team, a leadership style, and a set of operational expectations that determine whether someone will truly succeed.

That’s why understanding the workplace is just as important as understanding the role itself.

For over 20 years, we’ve worked alongside WA’s manufacturing, logistics, and industrial businesses, and we’ve learnt that the best hiring decisions come from seeing the bigger picture.

We don’t rely solely on job descriptions or resumes. We spend time on-site, understanding the workflow, the team, and the day-to-day realities that shape the role.

Because the right candidate isn’t just someone who can do the job on paper, they’re someone who fits the operation they’re joining.

In today’s labour market, businesses need more than a quick recruitment solution. They need a partner who understands their challenges, their environment, and what success looks like beyond the position description.

That’s the conversation we believe industrial leaders should be having.

The most expensive employee is the one who never turns up.

One missed shift can quickly create a much bigger operational problem — putting pressure on supervisors, increasing overtime and disrupting productivity.

That’s why getting the right person in place matters.

At IRP, our process starts on-site. We take the time to understand the operation, the role and the realities of the workplace before recruitment begins.

Because the right hire isn’t simply someone who can do the job. They need to work within your operation and contribute to its performance.

After more than 20 years working alongside WA’s industrial businesses, that understanding is what we’ve built IRP around.

We've walked into factories where the job description barely resembled the actual role.

That's why recruitment starts on site. Seeing the operation, talking with supervisors and understanding the team, changes who we recruit and why.

The best hires are created long before the advertisement goes live.

Perth's labour market has changed. Recruitment needs to change with it.

Over the last few years we've watched industrial businesses face:

• Increasing competition for labour
• Rising turnover
• Greater pressure on supervisors
• Increasing operational risk from workforce instability

That's why we've evolved the way we work with clients.

Our new website reflects that thinking.
