🔋 Motorhome Electrical Upgrade and Starlink Installation 🔋

Last year, we were contacted to help local residents of Armidale who sold their home and retired from work to full-time travel.

With the purchase of a Jayco Optimum 29.5ft motorhome, they knew serious upgrades were needed across all realms of communications and electrical.

This project involved a significant amount of planning, logistics, and work to be completed while located at the caravan park, allowing the couple to continue living in the motorhome.

Upgrades included:

• Installation of a Starlink Gen 2 12v conversion kit for internet connectivity anywhere in Australia and improved efficiencies to help increase battery runtimes while off-grid.
• Remove 2x 120Ah lithium batteries and replace them with a huge bank of 3x 300Ah lithium batteries, bringing the total capacity to 11.52kW of power.
• Remove 2x 180W solar panels and VAST satellite to make room for 2x SunPower 415W high efficiency panels and a 335W bank of solar panels totalling 1.16kW (maximum of 90 amps charge per hour) of solar.
• Supply & install 3x MPPT regulators to ensure the best charging outputs can be achieved
• Supply & install Victron 3000W inverter/charger
• Supply & install 50A DC to DC charger
• Supply & install Cerbo-GX for monitoring of all charge sources, battery state of charge, and inverter information.
• Removal of a Dometic 3-way absorption fridge and installation of a Thetford 12V upright compressor
• Install 2-Way/UHF Radio and antenna
• Supply & install a bucket load of 12V, 240V, solar cabling, crimps, and all other necessary components to make the upgrade happen!
