What does non-combustible actually mean?
Fletcher Insulation's Pink® Batts®, Soundbreak® and Pink® Partition glasswool insulation products are classified as non-combustible and have been tested in accordance with AS 1530.1, where a sample is exposed to temperatures of approximately 750°C under controlled conditions.
To achieve a non-combustible classification, the material must satisfy strict performance criteria, including no sustained flaming and a maximum temperature rise of 50°C. The glass fibres themselves remain stable and do not support combustion under the conditions of the test.
For specifiers, builders and installers, non-combustibility is one of several important performance characteristics to consider alongside thermal performance, acoustic performance and the requirements of the building application.
