The before and after of this one is a tad confronting but give it a minute for the grass to re-establish and this will look cracking.

This is a great example of functional landscaping.
This house had existing drainage and a concrete path to help with water sitting in the soil and entering the house
Unfortunately, these had not been as effective as they should have been and water had seeped into the house slab causing all manner of moisture related issues.
The insurance company deemed that the path had to be removed and new drainage put in.
This brings us to how the concrete path was removed and the lawn dug up.

Chris removed the path, decreased the slope of the ground and installed drainage. The drainage consists of 400mm trench with aggregate, 90mm pipe, geofab, grates that sit lower than ground level and the all important slope to allow the water to drain away. The trench is covered with a layer of top soil so that when the grass grows back the only visible sign of the drainage will be the grates.

Although it looks like he's ripped up the yard, he's ensuring the water stays away from the slab and home, helping to ensure the health and well-being of the house and its residents.

NB all before photos are customer supplied as Chris forgot to take any. Some are prior to the original concreting and drainage which were done by a different contractor

We love a job with an incredible view.
We did this potting mix bay several months ago but decided now was the time to share as we are getting closer to Christmas.
This is a rather large potting mix bay for Spruced. These guys will sort you out for all cut and potted Christmas trees. They have a variety of sizes and trees including Radiata, Spruce and Douglas Fir.

For a potting bay it's pretty fancy, if we do say so ourselves. The sandstone has a gorgeous earthy colour and texture that you don't always get with concrete. The bay was also concreted and is now able to hold a truck and dog of potting mix allowing Spruced to ensure they have the best trees for their customers.

This driveway was originally dirt and grass with well used wheel ruts and it was due for a bit of loving.
A good clean up, level up and the addition 10mm gravel improves the drainage, the usability and the look.

You might have noticed we've been sporting a new look over the last year. The makeover is finally completed...for now.
The cab was sanded back and repainted. The paint colour is in memory of Chris's pop, who, for many years, drove and owned a fleet of trucks. (So you could say it's in the blood). The colour is the exact same as pops much loved statesman.
After a bumpy start, Chris took over the entire job of overhauling the truck and sanded, primed and painted with the help of his dad.
The new paint job isn't just to make the truck fancy, but it is to ensure the truck stays in tip top condition, preventing rust and other damage to the cab.
Once the cab was completed, Chris and his dad started the massive task of building a new truck body. The old truck body had seen better days and any time spent repairing the body was time not working so, out with the old in with the new!
Over 12 months in all of Chris's spare time (haha) he worked on the body with it finally being fitted towards the end of 2021.

Now the truck has a fancy new paint job and a longer, sturdier body. We want to make sure our gear can stand up to the toughest of jobs.
