A few pictures from recent jobs while fault finding tripping circuits or lose of power. Hot joints - This is when there is a poor contact on a connection. Electricity than tries to jump cross high resistive joint which in turns causes more heat making connection even worse. It then becomes like a welding arc which lead in two things happening 1. Wire burns off and power is lost or 2. Insulation melts of and cables short out causing circuit to trip off. Please insure you keep a eye out with of discolouration of electrical equipment or equipment that seem to be warmer than usual as some thing more serious might be happening inside. This can also lead to a fire starting.
Stay safe.

We do thermal imaging to detect hot joints before you are left on the dark. Could cook my breakfast on this one.
