Reduce costs. Improve performance.

When businesses look at operating costs, the power bill is usually the obvious place to start. But your electrical systems can affect the bottom line in plenty of other ways.

A pump running longer than it should. A fault that keeps coming back. Poor controls. Unplanned downtime. Or electrical infrastructure that isn’t ready for the next piece of equipment.

Sometimes getting better performance doesn’t mean starting again. It means understanding what you already have, where the problems are, and what’s worth improving.

That could mean optimising energy use, improving controls, addressing recurring faults, upgrading ageing infrastructure or putting the right maintenance in place.

If there’s something on your site that could be working harder, smarter or more reliably, talk to us.

There are plenty of moving parts behind a successful project - and Jordan spends his days keeping them moving. 🤝

As our Yarrawonga Operations Manager and an A Grade Electrician, Jordy brings experience across automation, industrial maintenance, data and communications, and project management.

It’s a broad skill set that helps him see how the pieces fit together - from the electrical systems and equipment through to the people and operations relying on them.

A key part of our Yarrawonga team.

Cotton storage isn't your average electrical environment.

At this new large-scale storage facility in the Riverina, combustible dust meant the electrical installation and lighting needed to meet specific hazardous-area requirements - without compromising how the facility needed to operate.

Delivered by our Central Murray team, the project included power distribution, lighting, controls and associated electrical infrastructure throughout the facility.

A key part of the job was getting the hazardous-area lighting right. Working closely with Middy's on lighting design, product selection and technical support, we were able to work through the requirements early and deliver a safe, compliant solution without unnecessary delays.

It's a good example of what complex regional projects require: understand the environment, get the right people involved early, and design the electrical system around how the site actually needs to perform.

Thanks to the Middy's Electrical team for the collaboration, and for the recent feature in Middy's Mag.

Off-grid isn't a product you buy, it's a system you design: sizing, storage, backup, load management, and what happens on the shortest, greyest day of the year. Not just on the day you get the quote.

That's electrical and energy systems engineering, which is exactly what we do.

Not a bad office for the day. 🫡

One of the perks of the work we do is getting to spend time in some pretty incredible places across the region - including the iconic, National Heritage listed The Stick Shed in Murtoa.

A pretty spectacular backdrop for the JBI team on site.

If you’re travelling through the Wimmera, it’s well worth a visit, The Stick Shed is open seven days a week, 10am–3pm.

And if working on sites like this sounds pretty good to you, we’re currently looking for qualified electricians to join the JBI team. https://bit.ly/3TWyqbP

We’re looking for good electricians who want to do good work.

We’re growing and looking for qualified electricians to join our commercial, industrial and renewable energy teams.

There’s plenty of variety - from industrial maintenance, automation and major electrical projects through to commercial solar, battery storage and energy systems.

You’ll be joining an experienced regional team with plenty ahead, plus opportunities to keep building your skills and career.

We’re currently recruiting for:
⚡ Commercial & Industrial Electricians
☀️ Solar & Renewables Electricians + Team Leaders

Opportunities across Wangaratta, Yarrawonga & Cobram.

744 times this year, one of our technicians has started before six in the morning. Almost 25% of our working hours.

Not because we love the cold. Because on a high-stakes industrial or manufacturing site, the window for electrical work is whenever the line isn’t running - and that’s before the shift, after it, or on the weekend.

It’s a simple thing to say and a hard thing to staff for. But it’s the difference between an electrical partner that fits around your production and production that stops for electrical work.

We know which one our clients prefer.

The worst time to need a technician is at 2am with the power down.

They’re walking in cold. Finding the boards, working out what feeds what, calling someone who might remember why it was wired that way. All of it happens on your time, while nothing’s running.

We know what that work looks like because we do a lot of it - about a quarter of our scheduled hours this year have run outside normal 'working' hours. Early starts, nights, weekends. Production windows don’t move for us, so we move for them.

A JBI maintenance plan buys you the opposite of the 2am scramble: a team on call 24/7, who already knows the site, has the history, and starts in the right place. If you’ve had more than one after-hours callout this year, it’s worth doing the maths on what those actually cost you.

A machinery upgrade shouldn't cost you a shutdown you didn't budget for.

Planned well, electrical upgrades happen around your production. Planned poorly, they become unplanned downtime - the most expensive kind.

We plan our work around your operating schedule, not the other way around. Live-site upgrades, planned shutdowns, staged delivery with minimal disruption - and we stay accountable until the system performs under real operating conditions, not just on handover day. The difference is in the planning, long before anyone picks up a tool.

→ Planning an upgrade? Let's scope it around your production.

Big news for commercial and industrial solar. ☀️

The proposed expansion of the SRES from 100kW to systems up to 1MW could open up new opportunities for businesses where the existing threshold has been limiting.

But bigger doesn’t automatically mean better. The right system starts with understanding how and when your operation uses power, your existing electrical infrastructure, and where the business is heading.

If you’ve stopped at 100kW, deferred a larger system or want to understand what the change could mean for your operation, talk to us.

We’ll run the numbers and tell you what makes sense for your site.

Big win for businesses going solar 🌞

The Government has just announced it's expanding support for commercial and industrial solar, lifting the size limit for systems under the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES) from 100kW to a full 1MW. The new rules are expected to come into effect on 1 October.

That means hundreds of thousands more Australian businesses can now access support to install solar, reduce their emissions and slash their energy bills. A large industrial site could save up to $228,000 a year on power bills.

We've been calling for exactly this kind of support to maximise our world-leading rooftop solar industry and commercial and industrial roof space. Great to see it delivered 👏
