30 years ago this week we started Cleal Constructions. After 6 years of commercial building with L.H Brown , where Steve completed his apprenticeship and then 6 years with Parnall Constructions as a site foreman , Steve decided that it was time to take a huge leap of faith and start up our own business. With 1 tool trailer, a HQ ute (that is still sitting in our shed) we embarked on a whirlwind of amazing projects, meeting great clients and long hours navigating the ever changing landscape of the building industry. So much has changed over the years , from building prices , materials and regulations. The house in this photo was our first project , an extension on a house at the corner of Chomley Street and Vernon Road in Wangaratta. We take a lot of pride in driving around Wangaratta and surrounding areas and seeing the projects that we have completed over our 30 years and we are proud that we have continued to keep building our custom projects to a high level of craftsmanship. Thank you to the Wangaratta community who have supported us over these years and for a few more to come

Dundas Street Project
If you are after comfort, energy efficiency and a bit of a statement house then this is the one. Built on a block with an existing old house that was no longer inhabitable, this 2 Bedroom 2 Bathroom new build fits into this older established street. Energy efficiency was a huge requirement for this project with triple glazed windows and sliding doors imported from Europe, Heat and ventilation recovery system for air reticulation and bulked insulation in walls and ceilings for optimum comfort. The large north facing solar panel system installed on the roof services the house and battery set up and an EV charging unit in the garage. The polished concrete slab throughout the living, kitchen, meals & laundry areas gives thermal comfort from the north facing windows in the Meals and Living areas. The large open communal area continues out onto the side pergola area that follows the outside of the house around to the rear bedroom area. A small raised decked area at the rear of the house gives the owners a sitting area to view their vegetable garden and chocks. The mixture of external claddings frames the front of the house with the hidden Garage door integrated with the same wall cladding. Although bold and modern in structure, this home feels like it belongs amongst the new landscaped gardens and quiet street surrounds

Phillipson Project
This 1910's period style home received an modern upgraded kitchen , meals and sitting area with beautiful north facing sliding doors. Polished concrete floors by Aggenbach Floors and new Kitchen joinery by North East Kitchen Designs give these home owners a peaceful space added to their beautiful old home. The existing brick external wall now in the new sitting room ties the old in with the new. The sliding doors in the kitchen and meals area flow out onto the new entertaining deck area with a modern steel pergola area for ultimate living

This new house build in Usshers Drive was a design and construct for clients who were after a low maintenance down sizer home with a classic design and finish. The large outdoor Entertainment area was an important feature within their design process and adds another liveable space for our clients to enjoy with their family
