Throughout May, our team at Charles Hull Contracting loved spending Monday mornings at Edenvale Heritage Precinct reading construction, mining and truck-themed stories with local families. 🚜💛

From excited little faces and morning coffees to babycinos and big laughs, the sessions were a wonderful way to bring the community together and encourage a love of reading in a fun, interactive environment.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported the sessions. A special shoutout to CJ Trucking, an Australian female truck driver inspiring women and the next generation in the trucking industry, for generously donating “Is That My Aunty?” for us to read and then pass on to the wider community. 📖

A special mention to Ben Genoni and Trevor Gooch for completing late-night tie-downs to keep production on track, and to the operators who stayed back when needed — your commitment didn’t go unnoticed. A big shoutout also to Tyler Cottle, who stepped up into the Project Supervisor role, supported and guided by Chad Armstrong.

🌟 EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT 🌟

Meet one of the great faces behind CHC! 👷‍♂️

Brad has worked at CHC for 3 years and has worked with the COS crew since the begining.

Brad’s favourite part about his job is working with the COS crew!

When asked about a work accomplishment he’s most proud of, the answer was simple:
👏 “No injuries on my shift.”

Growing up, he dreamed of becoming a ✈️ pilot in the Air Force, he enjoys a good plate of 🥩 steak, eggs & chips, and has travelled across USA, South Africa, New Zealand and India.

Favourite movies? 🎬
Monty Python, Blues Brothers & Caddy Shack.

One thing still on the bucket list?
❄️ Working in Antarctica… although he reckons he might be a bit too old for that now!

And when asked who inspires him most:
❤️ “My wife Stacey — she puts up with me and I’m not sure why.”

As for a fun fact?
🤫 “Can’t tell, because then everyone will know!”

📚 Last month was World Book Day, some of our CHC team stepped out of the office and into the classrooms.

Our volunteers Karl Grey, Glen Keating, Carla Brett and Marnie Brett visited Waroona’s local schools St Josephs Primary School and Waroona District High School spending time with students and reading storybooks, giving the students a fun introduction to the world of machinery, construction and truck driving.

To keep the learning going, we donated the books to the schools, so students can continue to explore these stories long after our visit.

We’re proud to support our local schools and hope to inspire the next generation 🧡

Thank you to St Josephs Primary School and Waroona District Highschool for welcoming the CHC team - we had a fantastic time.
