With engineering calling for hot dipped galvanized steel for the external deck supports, it posed a very difficult and risky steel order as all of the steel needs to be fabricated off site and then installed rather than an instu installation that would allow for us to mark the brackets and heights on site through out the construction. With the steel company refusing to take responsibility for the order the measurements; both builders shop drawings and then steel fabrication shop drawings needed to be meticulously thought through and signed off by Instyle Homes before fabrication began. A difficult task with all posts needing to be different heights with their brackets maintaining exact level for the verandah and deck while picking up the load bearing points of the house. With a huge stress relief and the help of a bloody good builder mate the steel went in perfectly!

To create the new lounge room we had to remove a couple of load bearing walls. The load bearing walls probably had a couple of tonne of weight in certain locations so a lot of care was taken with the temporary propping of the roof whilst these beams went in. The best part, hearing the new beams load up with the weight as you slowly release the temp supports.

The new renovation project in Macleod. A 60s built house with a tacked on extension from the 80s. This project includes an Internal strip out and a remodel of the internal rooms to create a modern layout and a house that flows as one. And at the rear there is a full rebuild of the external decks which also includes an elevated verandah extension to create an entertainment area from the kitchen.
