We are a busy concrete and construction company looking for a reliable Yard Person / General Hand to join our team. Please read ad before applying.

This is a hands-on role with a mix of yard duties, customer service, maintenance, and batching concrete at our plant (training provided). Truck driving experience is a strong plus.

We are looking for someone reliable, flexible, and keen to get their hands on a wide variety of work to support our daily operations. You’ll be ready to contribute across all areas of the business and be open to learning new skills as needed, such as batching concrete, operating an excavator or forklift, and handling various on-site tasks.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist customers with reinforcement products, quarry products, and other materials
• Load/unload materials safely (mesh, pallets, bulk materials), potentially using a forklift
• Perform metal fabrication, welding, and general repairs/maintenance as required
• Clean concrete trucks and equipment
• Assist with stock control, deliveries, and receiving
• Batch concrete (training provided; no prior experience required)
• General yard duties: mowing, spraying weeds, cleaning, and tidying the yard
• (If licensed) Occasional truck driving to deliver concrete
• Assist tradespeople with tasks as needed
Skills & Requirements
• Reliable, practical, and happy to work outdoors
• Physically fit and able to handle manual work
• Willing to learn new skills and take on a wide variety of tasks
• Willing to learn batching/plant operation — training provided
• Comfortable using our electronic job management system — training provided
• Forklift licence and HR truck license preferred
• White Card preferred or willing to obtain
• Experience in metal fabrication and welding is a bonus
• Handy with tools and practical tasks
• Team player with good communication skills for working with colleagues and customers
What We Offer
• A long term full-time position. We’re looking to initially hire on a casual basis with full time hours, for an agreed probation period, with the opportunity and intention to transition to full-time permanent employment for the right candidate

It is a great little country town, but fairly remote (the closest major town is Dubbo: 1.2hr drive away).

Ideally, we are looking for someone permanent, however due to the remote location, rostered work options can be discussed.

Whether you’re an experienced leader or a skilled carpenter keen to progress into a supervisory role, this hands-on position offers the chance to lead a small crew, assist with quoting, organise jobs, and communicate with clients.

We’re looking for someone who demonstrates strong expertise, high level skillset and can work autonomously with minimal supervision.

While carpentry skills are certainly important—and we do have some construction projects from time to time—the majority of work is form work and concrete-related (supplying, forming, and finishing concrete). There’s also a significant amount of machinery operation involved, including excavation, earthworks, and material handling. So even if you aren't specifically a carpenter and think you’d be a good fit, please forward us your resume.

It’s a very hands-on role, and we’re looking for someone who is flexible and willing to jump in wherever needed to keep the business running smoothly. Some tasks may have little to do with either carpentry or concreting, at most we have full-service construction projects, encompassing planning and labour supply, materials and machinery, right through to project completion and handover.

In the long run, we’re looking for someone mature, who can grow into a trusted right-hand person to the director—someone reliable, skilled, and knowledgeable, who takes responsibility and consistently delivers quality work. Ideally, we are looking for someone permanent, however due to the remote location, rostered work options can be discussed. Please apply only if you are able to come on-site at your own travel expenses, for a minimum of 3 months paid probation period. This is subject to performance, with intention to transition to a permanent role, to ensure a good fit for both parties. This role requires specificity and the ability to step into a role with a higher level of responsibility.
