ATTENTION ALL INDUSTRY MEMBERS! 📢
Our community must work together to ensure our region's youth have the knowledge and experience to make informed career-based decisions. It's why the NPL are forming the COMMUNITY FOR CAREERS: BUSINESS ACTION GROUP.
We invite all industry members, business owners and business representatives to attend the information session and meeting on December 11.
The Business Action Group will be made up of passionate industry members from the Warrnambool, Corangamite and Moyne Shires. We envisage the group having many members who will meet once a term to hear about (and plan) career education and experience-based programs for teenagers. Members will have opportunities to include their businesses in these programs, join sub-committees to focus on areas of need, create new programs and assist in their implementation.
The NPL have many exciting programs on the horizon:
👉️ a careers expo where schools will bus their students in during the day and parents and students attend at night
👉️ teacher professional development where teachers visit businesses to make industry connections
👉️ bus loads of female students attending the Trades Fit Expo
👉️ mock job interviews where employers can give students interview practise with real jobs
👉️ school connection programs with school classes working with industries that match their curriculum
👉️ a website where businesses can promote their operations and positions they have available
We are committed to exposing young people to their many career options. The benefit to industry members is that by being a part of the Business Action Group, you can showcase your businesses to these young people. And there's no cost to join!
This year the NPL have worked with over 1660 students from 16 schools totalling over 5500 hours of careers education.
