Parallel lines do a combination of creative carpentry and solid timber Joinery and installs. We love to work with customers to come up with truly unique one of a kind jobs that leaves smiles all round. Of course we also do general carpentry and some steel work. For anyone that doesn’t already know we are no longer in business. Covid was tough on small businesses and I was no exception. Add the subsequent cost of living pressures and making a decent living got harder and harder and more stressful so decided it was time to do something different!
As they say one door closes another opens so it’s not all sad face! I’m exited to see what the future brings!

Thank you to all the wonderful customers that gave me the opportunity to use my creativity. It was a pleasure to work with you to create some truly stunning furniture I’ll be forever proud of!

I was recently asked to build a bench seat for a new school in the west.
Not any old bench seat but a 6.5m long curved and flowing bench seat with nice chunky 35mm thick Spotted Gum and wrapped in custom pre rolled Corten steel which over time is designed to surface rust and containing a garden bed.
I’d be lying if I didn’t say this job was a major head ache requiring giant templates and a lot of pre planning but I think it came out great

At the end of the day we all work for money but for me when I complete a job and and a customer tells me how happy they are with the final result or leaves a fantastic review like this most recent one for a reclaimed Messmate built in with a nice soft curve at the open window end that is when I really get job satisfaction!

With the upcoming bans on engineered stone a great natural hard wearing alternative is solid Australian timber. All our vanities and kitchen bench tops are finished first with an impregnating timber sealer oil and then 2 coats of hardwax/oil for a guaranteed long life!

A custom made entertainment unit with or without built in shelving above can really elevate a good space into a great space!
Sure that DFO unit looks ok. But when it’s designed just for you there’s no comparison!
Here is a mix of different Timbers and designs to suit each customers preferences and space.
A crucial element is carefully choosing the right timbers and making sure the grain is continuous across the entire unit!
Each unit is carefully designed and crafted and incorporates any power and antenna requirements.
Doors, drawers, open spaces, floating, to the floor, built in or floating shelving or just the clean minimalist look. Anything is possible!

Recently I was asked by Western Health to make some picnic tables to be placed in a couple of green spaces for use by staff and patients at Baccus Marsh and Melton hospitals to recognise the good humans past and present that care for the people of the west.
The original idea was to use actual timber from demolition of parts of the original sites but that didn’t work out so we went with some salvaged Ironbark railway sleepers that came from Geelong and industrial steel bases for the main tables x2 and also some BlackButt and white steel bases for a different area.
Was an honour to be involved in this project.
