Our Director, Tony Fenwick, was on the controls of the excavator — making short work of the bridge by crushing the concrete and steel one bay at a time. 💪

🏗️ PROJECT SPOTLIGHT 🏗️

Back in 2018, Fenwick Demolition and Dirt carried out a partial demolition at Greenhills Shopping Centre — making way for the modern centre we all know today. 🛍️

The cover photo captures part of the mechanical demolition of the shopping centre— our excavator in action, carefully demolishing part of the structure. 👷‍♂️💪

What made this project unique was that it was completed in a live environment — with the shopping centre still operating throughout the works. A lot of safety planning and risk assessments went into this project, and we relied on the expertise of our experienced operators such as our Director, Tony Fenwick, who brings over 40 years of industry experience.

Working hand-in-hand with a structural engineer, we successfully delivered a controlled structural demolition, including the use of a tower crane for precision removal.

Another great example of planning, skill, and teamwork in action.

🚧 PROJECT FLASHBACK 🚧

In 2019, we carried out the controlled demolition of the Donald Street Car Park in Nelson Bay. 🏗️

Check out our highly skilled excavator operator in action — not something you see every day! A 30-tonne excavator chomping away at a reinforced concrete car park slab is definitely a sight to remember. 💪

The project was successfully completed with precision, safety, and expertise — exactly what Fenwick Demolition and Dirt is all about.

Back then, operating under a predecessor business, Tony made the headlines for building his own home almost entirely from recycled materials – including an incredible 65,000 convict-made sandstock bricks salvaged from a local demolition project. 🧱
