Elm Builders began as a very small father and son construction company back in 2001.

They started in residential, building 30 homes per year and progressed from there into commercial building. The first conversion project they took on was converting an old printing company in Wilmington, NC to climate-controlled self-storage. The seller assumed Erik would level the building and put up a brand new structure but to his surprise, Erik utilized the shell instead and created a cash-flowing asset that is still serving the community to this day.

At Elm Builders we now specialize in conversion projects all across the SouthEast, taking everything from abandoned grocery stores to old KMarts and converting them self-storage.
