2nd pick today… 800g plus the ones I ate. Plenty more to come in the next few weeks.

I have had a terrible Summer season.

Despite everything, my zucchini produced 3 (8 plants in total), I have barely have any pumpkins set (massive amounts of seedlings planted), half a dozen berries, no eggplant, sprinkle of silverbeet leaves, 2 dozen tomatoes (one surviving plant) and no strawberries or beans.

Potatoes are plentiful but I need something other than their starchy goodness in my diet!

I am disappointed. Hours of work digging compost into beds, mulching, watering and growing seeds has not paid off for a good harvest.

Slaters and millipedes have run riot. They’ve chewed everything possible including the base of established 2m high beam plants!!

Small win though, my garden is still my happy place.
