Planting day doesn't start on planting day.

These Gaura and Kniphofia are staged and ready to go in at a recent Bellevue Hill project, but getting to this point involved sourcing, scheduling, and coordinating with the build timeline weeks in advance. It's one of those parts of the process clients rarely see, but it makes a real difference to the outcome. Plants that go in at the right time, in the right condition, establish faster and perform better from day one.

For all our Sydney projects, we offer planting set out during the construction stage as part of our services. That way nothing's left to chance at the end of a build. That colour isn't a filter.

Euphorbia tirucalli 'Firesticks' is one of those plants that makes people stop mid-scroll and actually ask what they're looking at. The coral and orange tones aren't permanent - they're the plant's response to heat, sun, and dry conditions, which means the more you leave it alone, the better it looks. It's drought tolerant, low maintenance, and architecturally brilliant in the right spot.

One thing worth knowing: the sap is a skin and eye irritant, so it's a plant we spec carefully depending on the household and location. Used well though, it's genuinely one of the most striking things you can put in a contemporary garden.

A staircase between levels doesn't have to feel like a staircase between levels.

This Northbridge garden moves across multiple terraces, and a lot of thought went into making those transitions feel natural rather than engineered. The custom balustrade is slim enough to stay out of the way, while the planting, soft and light-catching up front, bold and tropical behind, does the heavy lifting of making one level feel connected to the next.

It's the kind of detail most people won't consciously notice, which is exactly the point. More residential work at the link - https://www.inspiredexteriors.com.au/

You notice the stairs. Then you notice you've stopped moving.

This Paddington commercial courtyard pairs precise tiled stone stairs with planting that earns every inch - sweeping tropical fronds, a clipped forms, mixed ground covers and dense layered planting creating a lush, considered arrival sequence rarely seen in commercial design.

Because the threshold between a building and its landscape is the first thing experienced and the last thing designed. When it's done well, it changes how everything feels from that point forward.

One does not fully appreciate a garden until you sees it from above, at which point it becomes rather difficult to argue that anywhere else on earth could possibly be better.

Northbridge. Complete! And really, quite marvellous.

If you've been thinking about your own outdoor space, now would be a rather good time to get in touch.

Privacy does not have to feel closed in.

In this Watsons Bay garden, a timber pergola frames the terrace while open slats allow light and air to pass through. Layered planting softens the base of the structure and the stepped transition, helping the architecture settle naturally into the garden.

Dense hedging along the boundaries creates privacy and a sense of intimacy, turning the space into a comfortable outdoor room that feels protected yet relaxed. It’s a reminder that planting is just as important as built form.

If you’re looking to create outdoor spaces that feel calm, considered, and liveable, we’re always happy to help.

A recent 3D landscape concept for a project in Hope Island, QLD.

Working with a strong existing olive tree, we have kept the front garden simple and structured. Low clipped hedging gives it a clean framework, while the bougainvillea lifts the facade and softens the garage.

New tiling from sets up the entry and helps tie the whole space together.

3D renders are a big part of how we design. They let us test the layout, planting and materials properly before we get to site.

This is how you make a front garden feel composed and confident.

A row of pleached pear trees brings order, scale, and a very clear sense of arrival to this Mosman project. Their consistent form creates a strong backdrop by day and a striking silhouette once the lights come on.

Uplighting adds warmth and drama without shouting, highlighting the structure of each tree and giving the garden a presence long after sunset. It is proof that restraint can still feel impactful.

If you are refining a front garden and want it to work just as hard at night, we are always happy to help.

A pool should feel like part of the garden, not separate from it.

Layered planting softens the hard edges of a pool, adds depth through the seasons, and creates a more relaxed experience for everyday family use. In this Maroubra project, the planting palette was carefully structured to frame views, provide privacy, and respond to the coastal conditions of the site.

Combined with large format poolside tiling by Skheme, the result is a space that feels calm, cohesive, and designed to age well over time. It’s this balance between softness and durability that defines a successful residential pool landscape.
