It’s happy hour time for a few weeks whilst we are away taking a well earned holiday. If you need a load of wood, there will be a delay until our return unfortunately.

Just a few days to go and the spring firewood collection period begins - get your permit applications in!

People who rely on firewood as their sole source of heating and cooking are strongly encouraged to plan their firewood needs early.

Firewood can be collected from:

🔥1 March to 30 June (Autumn season)
🔥1 September to 30 November (Spring season)

Firewood cannot be collected outside these times.

A permit is required to collect firewood from roadsides in Buloke Shire.👇

You must apply for and receive a written permit from Buloke Shire Council before collecting any firewood from council-managed roadsides or land.

❌ There are penalties for failing to follow firewood collection rules.

The rules for firewood collection are contained in the Forests (Domestic Firewood) Regulations 2022 and Crown Land (Reserves) (Domestic Firewood) Regulations 2022.
