I am absolutely disgusted by the actions of this government.

Now we’re talking about a fi****ms buyback that could potentially cost taxpayers millions upon millions of dollars, buying back legally owned fi****ms from people who have already done everything required of them.

Think about that for a minute.

These fi****ms were purchased legally. Their owners were licensed, background checked, followed the rules, registered their fi****ms where required and complied with strict storage laws. Now taxpayers could be expected to foot an enormous bill to compensate those same people because the government has decided to change the rules.

And what does that achieve?

How much money will be spent buying back fi****ms from law-abiding people, administering the scheme, processing surrendered fi****ms and ultimately destroying property that was legally purchased?

That is money that could be directed towards police, tackling organised crime, illegal fi****ms, mental-health services, hospitals and genuine community-safety measures.

Licensed fi****ms owners are not the easy answer to every problem.

If these reforms are genuinely about making Australians safer, then show us the evidence that spending millions of taxpayers’ dollars taking legally owned fi****ms from compliant owners will actually achieve that.

Stop treating law-abiding fi****ms owners like criminals and stop making taxpayers pay for rushed political decisions.

The NSW gun buyback will start in November, paying low values for fi****ms that gun owners will be forced by law to surrender.

So the NSW Government is going to steal back your guns. Not fair market value. Rimfire rifles will only get you $600 and centrfire $1000 unless it's over $3k then you can apply for more compensation. Just like the exemptions you will be able to apply for from the Commissioner that are yet to be implemented.
