As the weather cools down, waterproofing products can take longer to dry and cure ❄️

Cool temperatures, higher humidity, shorter daylight hours and overnight dew can all slow drying times significantly — even when the surface feels dry to touch.

When applying waterproofing membranes during cooler weather:
✔ Allow extra drying time between coats
✔ Avoid late afternoon application where possible
✔ Watch for overnight dew and moisture
✔ Don’t rush recoating

If the coating is exposed to rain, dew or moisture between coats, the surface should be thoroughly rinsed with clean water and allowed to completely dry again before applying additional coats.

Taking your time and waiting for suitable conditions can make a big difference to the long-term performance of the system. 👌

We love receiving before-and-after videos from happy customers 🙌

This one came through from a customer who was dealing with a 15-year-old teak deck that was holding water and starting to break down. Instead of replacing it, he sanded it back, repaired the damaged areas, reinforced a few sections with geofabric and coated it using the VersEseal waterproofing system
with a non-slip finish.

The transformation turned out fantastic and the video gives a great look at the whole process from start to finish.

A Lifeboat’s New Chapter Begins

After months of dedication and restoration, Pandora is ready for the water once again — this time as a dry, sealed, and reliable vessel.

Dan’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring, and we’re honoured that VersEseal was part of it.

Customer Story Series – Part 4/5

Sealed and Ready for the Water

With the interior cleaned, caulked, and ready, Dan moved on to the final step in restoring Pandora’s hull — sealing it with VersEseal.

Using two heavy coats across the hull and a third over the seams, Dan ensured maximum protection for the flexible, moving timber.

With the hull now sealed, Pandora is almost ready to float again — this time, dry and dependable.

Interior Prep – The Grit Before the Gloss

Before VersEseal could be applied, Dan had to tackle the interior of Pandora — and it wasn’t easy.
🗣 “The inside was really hard too — with 60kg of silt, old diesel, weeds and rubbish in the bilge.”

Over many months, Dan painstakingly cleaned, caulked, and repaired the hull from the inside out. At 75, this kind of work is no small feat. This stage was critical — creating a stable, dry foundation before moving on to sealing the hull.
