Hi from Cooper's. Kale, silver beet and spinach and those types of tougher leafy greens do really well in the colder weather. Root vegetables like beetroots, turnips and swedes are good to plant right on the cusp of winter. Good time to grow. About a 15 day germination time.

A very good morning to you all. Lovely day to be planting bromeliads. Bromeliads may be terrestrial, saxicolous or epiphytic. The first grow on the ground, the second on rocks and the third attach themselves to trees, shrubs. None of these actually need soil. Epiphytic plants can even get their water and nourishment from the atmosphere. I think that's pretty cool and with over 1000 varieties these are some of my favourite plants.
