আন্তর্জাতিক শিক্ষা দিবস প্রতি বছর ২৪ জানুয়ারি পালিত হয়। এটি শিক্ষা-কে একটি মৌলিক মানবাধিকার হিসেবে স্বীকৃতি দেয়, যা শান্তি, টেকসই উন্নয়ন এবং দারিদ্র্যের চক্র ভাঙার জন্য অপরিহার্য। ২০১৮ সালে জাতিসংঘ (UN) এই দিবসটি ঘোষণা করে। এর মূল উদ্দেশ্য হলো—বিশেষ করে প্রান্তিক জনগোষ্ঠীর জন্য সবার জন্য অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক ও মানসম্মত শিক্ষা নিশ্চিত করার গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরা।

The International Day of Epidemic Preparedness is an international day that encourages every individual, every institution and every government to observe the International Day annually "... in an appropriate manner and in accordance with national contexts and priorities, through education and awareness-raising activities, in order to highlight the importance of the prevention of, preparedness for and partnership against epidemics".
The United Nations General Assembly designated December 27 as the International Day of Epidemic Preparedness in its Resolution on December 7, 2020.
The impuls for designating a specific day to this topic obviously was the experience with the unending and still uncontained coronavirus COVID-19 epidemic. The World Health Organization, as well as the governments and leaders around the world have realized, that "There is an urgent need to have resilient and robust health systems, reaching those who are vulnerable or in vulnerable situations." And specifically, that "There is great need of raising awareness, the exchange of information, scientific knowledge and best practices, quality education, and advocacy programmes on epidemics at the local, national, regional and global levels as effective measures to prevent and respond to epidemics."
Many countries and regions welcome the extra attention which observance of this International Day can bring to their efforts to not only contain the epidemic of COVID-19, but to improve their response capabilities going forward, so they are better equipped for future challenges.

১৮ ডিসেম্বর ১৯৯০-এ, সাধারণ পরিষদ সমস্ত অভিবাসী শ্রমিক এবং তাদের পরিবারের সদস্যদের অধিকার রক্ষার আন্তর্জাতিক কনভেনশনের উপর একটি প্রস্তাব গৃহীত হয়।
প্রতি বছর ১৮ ডিসেম্বর, জাতিসংঘ-সংশ্লিষ্ট সংস্থা ইন্টারন্যাশনাল অর্গানাইজেশন ফর মাইগ্রেশন (IOM) এর মাধ্যমে, ৪১ মিলিয়নেরও বেশি অভ্যন্তরীণভাবে বাস্তুচ্যুত ব্যক্তি সহ প্রায় ২৭২ মিলিয়ন অভিবাসীদের অবদান তুলে ধরতে আন্তর্জাতিক অভিবাসী দিবস ব্যবহার করে। তারা যে চ্যালেঞ্জের সম্মুখীন হয়।
IOM-এর প্রায় ৫০০টি দেশের অফিস এবং সাব-অফিসগুলির পাশাপাশি সরকারি, আন্তর্জাতিক এবং দেশীয় নাগরিক সমাজের অংশীদারদের দ্বারা সংগঠিত ইভেন্টগুলির দ্বারা সমর্থিত এই বৈশ্বিক ইভেন্টটি মাইগ্রেশন থিমগুলির বিস্তৃত পরিসর, সামাজিক সংহতি, মর্যাদা, শোষণ, অভিবাসনের নির্দেশিত সমর্থনের জন্য সংহতি পরীক্ষা করে। এই নীতির দ্বারা যে মানবিক এবং সুশৃঙ্খল অভিবাসন অভিবাসী এবং সমাজকে উপকৃত করে।

International Migrants Day!

On 18 December 1990, the General Assembly adopted a resolution on the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families.
Each year on December 18, the United Nations, through the UN-related agency International Organization for Migration (IOM), uses International Migrants Day to highlight the contributions made by the roughly 272 million migrants, including more than 41 million internally displaced persons, and the challenges they face.
This global event, supported by events organized by IOM's nearly 500 country offices and sub-offices as well as governmental, international and domestic civil society partners examines a wide range of migration themes, Social Cohesion, Dignity, Exploitation, Solidarity to advocate for migration guided by the principle that humane and orderly migration benefits migrants and society.
In 1997, Filipino and other Asian migrant organizations began celebrating and promoting 18 December as the International Day of Solidarity with Migrants. This date was chosen because it was on 18 December 1990 that the UN adopted the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families.
Building on this initiative, 18 December with support from Migrant Rights International and the Steering Committee for the Global Campaign for Ratification of the International Convention on Migrants' Rights and many other organizations – began late 1999 campaigning online for the official UN designation of an International Migrant's Day, which was finally proclaimed on 4 December 2000.
The United Nations proclamation of the International Migrants Day is an important step, offering a rallying point for all those concerned with the protection of migrants. The UN invited all UN member states, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations to observe this day by disseminating information on human rights and fundamental freedoms of migrants, sharing experiences, and undertaking action to ensure the protection of migrants.
International Migrants Day is seen as an opportunity to recognize the contributions made by millions of migrants to the economies of their host and home countries promotes respect for their basic human rights.

মহান বিজয় দিবস – ১৬ ডিসেম্বর
১৬ ডিসেম্বর—বাংলাদেশের ইতিহাসে এক অবিস্মরণীয় গৌরবময় দিন। দীর্ঘ ৯ মাসের রক্তক্ষয়ী মুক্তিযুদ্ধের পর ১৯৭১ সালের এই দিনে পাকিস্তানি হানাদার বাহিনী আত্মসমর্পণ করে, আর জন্ম নেয় একটি স্বাধীন ও সার্বভৌম বাংলাদেশ।
এই বিজয় অর্জিত হয়েছে ৩০ লক্ষ শহীদের রক্তের বিনিময়ে, অসংখ্য মা-বোনের ত্যাগ ও লাখো বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধার সীমাহীন সাহসের মাধ্যমে। তাদের আত্মত্যাগের কারণেই আজ আমরা লাল-সবুজের পতাকা হাতে নিয়ে স্বাধীনভাবে কথা বলতে পারি, নিজের পরিচয়ে গর্ব করতে পারি।
মহান বিজয় দিবস শুধু একটি দিবস নয়—এটি আমাদের চেতনা, আত্মপরিচয় ও দায়িত্বের নাম। এই দিন আমাদের স্মরণ করিয়ে দেয় দেশপ্রেম, ঐক্য, ত্যাগ ও মানবিকতার মূল্য। স্বাধীনতা অর্জনের পাশাপাশি স্বাধীনতাকে রক্ষা করাও আমাদের কর্তব্য।
এই মহান দিনে আমরা গভীর শ্রদ্ধাভরে স্মরণ করি মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সকল শহীদ ও বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধাদের।

কেন এই দিবস?

১৯৭১ সালের মুক্তিযুদ্ধের একেবারে শেষ সময়ে—১৪ ডিসেম্বর—পাকিস্তানি হানাদার বাহিনী ও তাদের সহযোগী আল-বদর, আল-শামস বাহিনী পরিকল্পিতভাবে বাংলাদেশের শীর্ষস্থানীয় শিক্ষক, ডাক্তার, প্রকৌশলী, লেখক, সাংবাদিক, গবেষকসহ বুদ্ধিজীবীদের অপহরণ ও হত্যা করে। উদ্দেশ্য ছিল—নতুন স্বাধীন বাংলাদেশকে মেধাশূন্য করা, যেন দেশটি নেতৃত্ব ও জ্ঞানভিত্তিক অগ্রগতি থেকে বঞ্চিত হয়।

At the very final stage of the **1971 Liberation War**, on **14 December**, the Pakistani occupying forces, along with their collaborators **Al-Badr** and **Al-Shams**, systematically abducted and killed the country’s leading **intellectuals**, including teachers, doctors, engineers, writers, journalists, and researchers.
Their objective was to make the newly independent Bangladesh **intellectually crippled**, so that the nation would be deprived of leadership and knowledge-based progress.

সর্বজনীন স্বাস্থ্য কভারেজ দিবস প্রতি বছর ১২ ডিসেম্বর পালিত হয় এবং বিশ্ব স্বাস্থ্য সংস্থা দ্বারা প্রচারিত হয়।
ডিসেম্বর ১২ হল প্রথম সর্বসম্মত জাতিসংঘের প্রস্তাবের বার্ষিকী যা সমস্ত দেশকে তাদের নাগরিকদের জন্য সাশ্রয়ী মূল্যের, মানসম্পন্ন স্বাস্থ্যসেবা প্রদানের আহ্বান জানায়।

Universal Health Coverage Day is celebrated annually on December 12 and is promoted by the World Health Organization.
December 12 is the anniversary of the first unanimous United Nations resolution calling for all nations to provide for their citizens affordable, quality health care.
UHC is promoted as an instrument to help advance the more broadly conceived human right to health, which is based upon a number of international agreements, or widely affirmed international documents.
Universal health coverage has been included in the new Sustainable Development Goals for 2015-2030, adopted by the United Nations. In many nations, inclusive healthcare is very rudimentary and does not include heroic interventions or long term care. WaterAid reports that national infrastructure in many nations cannot support first world healthcare delivery mechanisms because it may not even provide potable water, let alone electricity.
A major WHO and UNICEF survey in 2015 reported that 38% of healthcare facilities surveyed did not have access to a basic water source, and 35% lacked the materials necessary for people to wash their hands effectively. When healthcare workers can’t keep facilities clean and prevent infections, their ability to deliver safe, effective, and dignified care is undermined.
The WASH Initiative (Water, sanitation, and hygiene in healthcare facilities) of the WHO and UNICEF - and their global partners, is part of the UN's Global Action Plan "to ensure that all health care facilities in all settings have adequate water, sanitation and hygiene services by 2030."
In 2016, the celebration is December 12, 2016. The standard logo is a gold circle with black and white print, showing the year's date of the celebration.

December 11, "International Mountain Day", was designated by the United Nations General Assembly in 2003. The General Assembly "encouraged the international community to organize events at all levels on that day to highlight the importance of sustainable mountain development."

Human Rights Day is celebrated annually around the world on 10 December every year.
The date was chosen to honor the United Nations General Assembly's adoption and proclamation, on 10 December 1948, of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), the first global enunciation of human rights and one of the first major achievements of the new United Nations. The formal establishment of Human Rights Day occurred at the 317th Plenary Meeting of the General Assembly on 4 December 1950, when the General Assembly declared resolution 423(V), inviting all member states and any other interested organizations to celebrate the day as they saw fit.
The day is normally marked both by high-level political conferences and meetings and by cultural events and exhibitions dealing with human rights issues. Besides, it is traditionally on 10 December that the five-yearly United Nations Prize in the Field of Human Rights and Nobel Peace Prize are awarded. Many governmental and non-governmental organizations active in the human rights field also schedule special events to commemorate the day, as do many civil and social-cause organisations.

Buy Nothing Day is a day of protest against consumerism. In North America, the United Kingdom, Finland and Sweden, Buy Nothing Day is held the day after U.S. Thanksgiving, concurrent with Black Friday; elsewhere, it is held the following day, which is the last Saturday in November.
Created by artist Ted Dave and promoted by magazine and nonprofit Adbusters, Buy Nothing Day encourages people not to shop for one day. Participants may participate in a variety of anti-consumerist and philanthropic activities, such as donating winter coats or marching through stores. Some activists have also extended Buy Nothing Day to cover the entire Christmas shopping season. As of 2001, Buy Nothing Day was observed in over 35 countries. In the late 1990s, Adbusters created a TV commercial to promote Buy Nothing Day in the US, but most television stations refused to air it. Some commentators, particularly business groups, have criticized the event, claiming that it is economically destructive.

The United Nations General Assembly has designated November 25 as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (Resolution 54/134). The premise of the day is to raise awareness around the world that women are subjected to r**e, domestic violence and other forms of violence; furthermore, one of the aims of the day is to highlight that the scale and true nature of the issue is often hidden.
