Because in a city where most people spend their days between 9 AM and 6 PM work schedules (at least on paper), there are very few places left to simply pause and breathe. Public spaces for everyday people are disappearing.
ঢাকা এখন রেস্টুরেন্টে ভরে গেছে। তবুও নতুন রেস্টুরেন্ট তৈরি হচ্ছে—কেন?

কারণ এই শহরে মানুষ প্রতিদিন সকাল থেকে সন্ধ্যা পর্যন্ত কাজের চাপে থাকে। আর সেই ব্যস্ততার মাঝখানে একটু থেমে শ্বাস নেওয়ার মতো জনসাধারণের জন্য উন্মুক্ত জায়গা প্রায় নেই বললেই চলে।

এক কাপ চা খেতে চাইলে হয়তো দাঁড়াতে হয় ধুলোময়, ব্যস্ত রাস্তার পাশে,
অথবা একটু শান্তি খুঁজতে ঢুকে পড়তে হয় কোনো রেস্টুরেন্টের শীতল পরিবেশে।এই বাস্তবতায় রেস্টুরেন্ট ডিজাইন করা আর শুধু টেবিল–চেয়ার সাজানোর বিষয় নয়।

একজন স্থপতির জন্য এখানে আসল চ্যালেঞ্জ হলো এমন একটি পরিবেশ তৈরি করা

যেখানে মানুষ কিছুটা ধীর হতে পারে,
সারাদিন সতর্ক থাকা মনটা একটু শান্ত হতে পারে,
আর বন্ধুবান্ধব বা সহকর্মীদের সাথে কিছুটা নির্ভার আড্ডা দেওয়া যায়। আজকের দিনে একটি রেস্টুরেন্ট শুধু খাবারের জায়গা নয়। এটা ধীরে ধীরে হয়ে উঠছে এই শহরের মানুষের জন্য অল্প কিছু আরাম পাওয়ার জায়গাগুলোর একটি।
