As tomorrow, 28th December marks the 25th death anniversary of architect Raziul Ahsan, I, Farmin Ahsan stop to think how much life has changed since he left...We, 3 siblings grew up, nurtured and guided by our mother and both our parents' principles. It has not been an easy journey- would be an undersratement... Life got tougher as we grew.. All the time being looked at by people whether we have been able to fill our parents' shoes...especially the one not there anymore...it became difficult for me as I had the audacity to study architecture....

I got called up yesterday by the Bengal Institute, to come over for an Interview as part of the documentation. Each of the 60 architects were coming in, in fixed slots to speak about their chosen work...me what would I do????..it takes immense courage to speak about your parents and their deeds and more if they are considered a Gem in their work field....what seemed a coincidence was that Baba had given an interview exactly 25 years back for the exhibition Pundra Nagar to Sher-e-Bangla Nagar exhibition...he was i think Co-Curating... And today, I gave an interview for him... Coincidence.. Life's reality...or maybe a challenge...I was having doubts about whether I could do you justice about your work.....but I feel I have...
You inspire us everyday Baba but being your children and your daughter and that also an architect has not been easy... i have not been able to fill your shoes... Because I am a rebel like you...we 3 all are... We make our own shoes and we make achievements our own way...

For those who still care to remember about Baba... Thank you.... 25 years is a long time to easily forget...but thank you for not forgetting.

We request friends and family and well wishers of Architect Raziul Ahsan to visit this exhibition "Bengal Stream: The Vibrant Architecture Scene of Bangladesh " being held at Bengal Shilpalaya on Dhanmondi Rd. 27 (First Floor of the current Bengal Boi beside Meena Bazaar). It will be held till the 9th of January 2023. Some works of Architect Raziul Ahsan are on display along with many other architects.

BUET and University Press Limited together has published the book 50 years of Architecture in Bangladesh. The project Sos Children’s Village, School and College at Bogra has been featured in the book as one the works in decade of the 90's. Copies of the book are probably available on the University Press Limited page.
