Come and work for us 📣 Chicken catching - flexible hours and shifts!

JC Beavis Contracting Bendigo is looking to expanded its growing chicken catching team. We are looking for employees with an upbeat attitude, who are reliable and willing to work hard to get the job done.

Punctuality is very important as we have a little window in the transport logistics. Chicken Catching is very physical and fast paced, a fit individual could excel at this job. The environment is dark and dusty, we get very dirty and there’s a possibility of being scratched by the chickens. We take animal welfare very seriously with a no tolerance policy. The job is not glamorous by any means but those who stick at it and work hard within the team make a good living.

Our work week is Sunday to Thursday (nights) Monday to Friday (mornings). We have the flexibility to work around family life how ever that may look like for you. Night or morning shift, hours or amount of days you’d like to work. If you don’t have a licence it will restrict the flexibility slightly.

A car or truck (MR or HC) licence is a financial advantage in this job. Although a license isn’t essential to apply for this job.

A great group of male and female staff, who work well as a team and help each other out. Communication is highly important when it comes to being available for work.

MUST have your own phone and be contactable in the afternoon. We are based in Lockwood, everyone meets at our yard then we travel to the farms in our work vehicles. Pay is an attractive piece rate, (paid per bird). Anyone without poultry (catching) experience will have a trail period of 4-6 weeks where you will be paid an hourly rate. We do NOT pay cash, please do not ask.

Merry Christmas to all my staff, thanks for all your hard work this year. Special thanks to Jason Lever at Lever AG, yet another year of keeping us running and dealing with our “s**t” chicken s**t covered machines that is 😉🤦🏻‍♂️😂 massive thank you to my local suppliers and contractor’s that help this big effort perform the way it does. Hope everyone has a ripper Christmas and a happy new year, looking forward to yet another big year in 2022.

JC Beavis Contracting Bendigo is looking to expanded its chicken catching team. We are looking for employees with an upbeat attitude and willing to work hard to get the job done. Punctuality is very important as we have a very little window in the logistics. Catching is very physical and fast paced employment. We work nights with start times and hours changing every night. The environment is dark and dusty. We have farms spread around vic with typical travel time of 2-4hr per night. We have a great team of male and female employees that have a good time but also work well as a team and help each other out. Must have own phone and be contactable in the afternoon. Own transport to meet in maiden gully is a must. We are looking for casuals with great reliability and work ethic to move into a full time position.
