We’re thrilled to share that “Back to the Future”, our installation presented during Milan Design Week 2023, has been featured in the latest printed publication by Architizer - The World’s Best Architecture.

Originally conceived as an exploration of the dialogue between heritage and innovation, “Back to the Future” reflects our ongoing commitment to creating spaces that connect people, materials, and ideas across time.

A sincere thank you to Architizer for including our work in this edition. We’re honoured to be part of this publication and to see the project continue its journey beyond Milan.

REACHING NEW HEIGHTS. We are so excited to share that Arianna Bavuso will be speaking at TEDx Cortina this summer.

Through her work as an architect, artist, researcher and educator, Arianna explores how the architecture of our everyday life shapes the way we feel, behave, and connect with our environment. Her talk reflects on the relationship between design, wellbeing, and the rituals of everyday life. This is an ongoing research she started almost a decade ago on Design as a tool for personal growth, healing and transformation that informs both AB+AC’s architectural practice and her work in collectible design with the Alma Mater Collection.

Link to watch the talk will follow up soon 🖤

At Casa Aether, every contribution was carefully chosen to become part of a shared spatial narrative.

For Lisbon Design Week 2026, we invited to present the Ayumi collection, a series of handcrafted lamps that celebrates the beauty of Japanese washi paper.

With a history spanning more than 1,300 years, washi paper is traditionally handcrafted from natural plant fibres such as kōzo, mitsumata, and gampi. Valued for its remarkable strength and its ability to diffuse light with exceptional softness, each sheet carries subtle variations in texture, fibres, and organic inclusions, revealing the time and craftsmanship behind its making. Beginning as a single circle of handmade paper, every lampshade is carefully pleated and shaped by hand, preserving a traditional Japanese technique while giving it a contemporary expression.

Thank you, for contributing to this collective vision.

HOW YOUR HOME DESIGN CAN BALANCE YOUR CIRCADIAN RHYTHM. We get often asked to provide practical examples of how we design spaces for regulating our nervous system.

Within Casa Aether, the bathroom emerges as the clearest expression of the project’s relationship between color, form and well-being.

Enveloped entirely in hand painted yellow tiles, the space shifts perception through natural light intensity rather than decoration. The morning light comes into the space, reflects and absorbs across its surfaces, turning the room into the perfect morning tool for:

+ activating your body by suppressing melatonin, releasing cortisol, and setting your internal timer ;
+ balancing your circadian rhythm.

Part of a broader composition of sculptural interiors, this design reflects our commitment to develop a new generation of projects catered for well-being, mental health, and longevity.

In a recent feature, UR Design Magazine offered a thoughtful reading of Casa Aether and its central premise: that architecture is never neutral, but has the capacity to shape emotion, behaviour, and perception.

Described as “a neurological instrument” rather than simply an interior, Casa Aether was designed as a sequence of atmospheres to influence perception through light, colour, materiality, and proportion.

Thank you urdesign for the feature and for engaging so closely with the intentions behind the project.

During Lisbon Design Week, Casa Aether also featured a food installation by our friend Alix from house of thoughts.

Set within the exhibition’s kitchen, the work extended the experience into a multi-sensory landscape, where taste, gesture, and atmosphere became part of the spatial narrative.

A moment suspended between disciplines, exploring other ways of activating presence and deepening the way we inhabit space 💛

The evolution of a dialogue.

In Part II of our film documenting ALMA MATER designed by Arianna Bavuso, we step into the elemental workspace where the collection’s beeswax components are hand-chiselled and brought to life.

This chapter captures two worlds: the raw, industrial character of the artisan’s workshop and the ethereal precision of the final functional art objects. A study in process, materiality, and the beauty found between making and meaning.

Here, stainless steel and beeswax undergo a transformation, from physical matter into vessels for ritual, presence, and inner stillness.

Film created in collaboration with .lisbon during Lisbon Design Week 2026.
