An Apartment with a View in Ixelles

Open to the bedroom, the bathroom extends the sense of space and brings a touch of hotel-like sophistication to the suite.

An Apartment with a View in Ixelles

In the entrance hall, a full-height mirrored wardrobe replaces an entire wall, creating a sense of depth while reflecting the geometric pattern of the chequerboard floor.

The master suite also features a discreet, concealed entrance from the hallway. Can you spot it?

An Apartment with a View in Ixelles

The kitchen was relocated to the rear of the apartment to make the most of the sunset while cooking, freeing up a generous living area designed for entertaining.

The extension project for this house in Laeken comes from a desire to completely reconfigure the interior spaces, creating a new living unit. The project redefines the domestic layout, integrating the areas dedicated to daily life and rest into a renewed configuration, designed around a more fluid arrangement of spaces.

The extension takes the form of a minimalist volume with a flat roof that contrasts with the existing traditional pitched roof. The interplay between the two forms defines the identity of this project: on the one hand, the distinctive character of the existing structure; on the other, a contemporary design based on compositional simplicity, the continuity of surfaces and the clarity of volumes.

On the rear façade, the large glazed openings establish a direct relationship between the interior spaces and the garden. The garden thus takes on a renewed role in the project, no longer a simple ancillary space, but an integral part of the new life of this house.

An extension to open the kitchen to the living space

The clients wanted to open up their kitchen to the living room and garden, creating a more generous and connected family space. A small extension allowed the kitchen to expand while strengthening its connection to the garden and bringing in more natural light. Topped with a green roof, the extension blends gently into its surroundings.

The bespoke kitchen was designed down to the smallest detail, making the most of every available space while creating practical and welcoming areas for everyday family life.

A soft, calming palette of whites and light greys is warmed by the natural tones of the wood, creating a bright and timeless atmosphere.

In the breakfast corner, the cupboard doors can be folded back into the cabinetry to reveal a practical space for family breakfasts. Once breakfast is over, the doors simply close again, keeping everyday clutter neatly out of sight.

A complete transformation of a traditional house situated in Etterbeek, Brussels.

Two extensions, closely linked to the light and the greenery of the gardens at the rear, completely transform the back façade. The interiors are re-arranged whilst retaining the heart and layout of the original house.

The centrepiece of the project is the living room overlooking the garden – a spacious, open-plan area with various sources of natural light. A space characterised by the light colours of the exterior and the window frames, which blend seamlessly with the soft green tones from the garden right up to the roof.
