◄ MAKING TIME DIALOGUE
Just a few minutes from Luxembourg City’s train station, UNICITY rises in a neighbourhood undergoing profound transformation.
The project starts from a fragment of memory: the classified industrial façades, witnesses of an urban landscape shaped by commercial and manufacturing activities.
Rather than freezing this heritage, the project embraces it as an anchor point.
The restored façades form the base of a new architectural composition. Above them, a contemporary extension with curved lines reinterprets the Art Deco language. Its façade, wrapped in a mobile, motorized golden mesh, filters light and gives the building a shifting presence throughout the day.
Two buildings create a single urban gesture. The streetside volume accommodates residential units and retail within a white glazed brick envelope. The renovated plant hosts administrative spaces organized around a luminous atrium, designed to offer flexibility and comfort.
Between them, the former parking lot disappears, giving way to a pedestrian plaza, a new urban room where flows, uses, and perspectives converge.
UNICITY does not seek to reproduce the past, nor to erase it. The project proposes a different approach: letting eras coexist to create a contemporary piece of the city.
An architecture that listens.
An architecture that connects.
An architecture that remembers — while moving forward.
