Welcome to the era of smooth and successful digital dimming without headaches!

As many stakeholders in our markets still resort to the traditional phase-cut solutions when being asked to supply a dimmable track spot, ORBIT now can offer low-barrier, easy-to-implement, Bluetooth controlled dimmable track spots which opens up new opportunities to create a competitive advantage in the project market.

Being a manufacturer, we spend considerable time and effort in supporting lighting designers to make the right choices.
As LED has become mainstream now, we think time has come to ditch our traditional halogen reflexes and embrace the new digital dimming era.
Bluetooth communication is an enabler in that respect.

Phase-cut (Triac) dimming is not a good solution as incompatibility in between electronic components in dimmer and driver often generate undesired side effects, such as flickering and unsmooth dimming patterns in the lower dimming regions (below 30%). Trial-and-error projects is what everybody should avoid as it often creates unhappy end-clients.

In order to get it right, the only alternative available up to recently was a fully-fledged DALI solution, which -for smaller projects- is often considered as too expensive, too burdensome and too complex (investment in new track system or new cabling, control hardware and software, commissioning, etc..).

ORBIT can now offer an easy-to-implement “middle way” solution which grants a 100% success on smooth track spot dimming without many complexities or hurdles.

We do so by integrating a CASAMBI Bluetooth antenna into every track spot, which conveys the digital dimming signal directly onto the a digital dimmable driver (called “wireless bridge”).
With this easy-to-implement mesh-network solution a smooth dimming can be assured on an existing infrastructures (no need to upgrade the track system, no complex programming and commissioning).

In this way, all led track spots can be controlled and dimmed by using a simple (smart) switch or smart device (smart phone , tablet, etc..)
