Right before the summer break, our team visited several HASA projects, a yearly tradition that keeps us connected to the spaces we design.
From the GO! primary school in Haaltert to De Klokke, a residential care facility in Sint Niklaas, a sunny lunch stop, the GO! primary school in Kruibeke, and the Imelda Day Hospital in Bonheiden, each visit brought fresh insights and renewed energy.

Together with BAS and ABT Belgium, we developed a masterplan for the energy-efficient renovation of Campus De Markt (GI De Kempen).
As part of this masterplan, we are currently preparing the complete refurbishment of Building M1 — a place where care, living, and support come together.

The project combines a full upgrade of the building envelope with a thoughtful reconfiguration of the interior layout. Energy performance will be significantly improved by replacing the existing brick façades and exterior joinery with high-performance insulated solutions, while the zinc roof will be carefully preserved and upgraded with additional insulation.

Inside, the building is being reshaped to better support daily life, with more spacious rooms and a warmer, more homelike environment for both young residents and staff.

Construction is set to begin at the end of summer, in collaboration with Het Facilitair Bedrijf and Renotec.

A thoughtfully designed façade composition in which windows and aluminum cassette panels alternate in a rhythmic pattern.

The vertical fins serve as sun shading and give the building a refined, elegant appearance.

Thanks to its modular detailing, the façade is also flexible and can be easily adapted to future needs and changes.

Exciting changes are on the horizon for GO! Atheneum Bree!

We’re proud to be shaping the transformation of the school into a future-ready campus where architecture and innovative education go hand in hand.

The project includes the full renovation of the original 1958 building, along with a new extension that is seamlessly integrated into the existing campus. In this way, the campus is given a fresh new life while honoring its architectural identity.

But this transformation goes beyond buildings. The school is embracing a forward-thinking educational model, where traditional classrooms make way for flexible, open learning environments that encourage collaboration, independence, and personalized learning journeys.
We look forward to seeing this vision come to life!

Trots om te delen dat we – samen met dbv architecten – de architectuurwedstrijd hebben gewonnen voor GO! De Varens in Brugge.

Voor deze school voor buitengewoon onderwijs ontwerpen we meer dan 8.000 m² nieuwbouw, zorgvuldig ingeplant tussen de bestaande gebouwen en de karaktervolle, met bomen omzoomde straat.

Het ontwerp speelt fijngevoelig in op de specifieke noden van de verschillende gebruikersgroepen, zowel binnen als buiten. We leggen daarbij een sterke focus op duidelijke en veilige circulatie: de circulatiestromen van lager en secundair onderwijs, paramedische functies en administratie zijn logisch gescheiden, zowel intern als extern, terwijl elke entiteit herkenbaar, kleinschalig en huiselijk vormgegeven wordt.

Scholen van Vlaanderen (Perceel 1) is een ambitieus programma dat tot doel heeft leerlingen in Vlaanderen moderne, duurzame en toekomstgerichte schoolinfrastructuur te bieden, aangepast aan de pedagogische behoeften van vandaag en morgen. Met het ontwerp, de bouw, de financiering en het 30-jarig onderhoud van 29 schoolbouwprojecten zet het programma in op de ontwikkeling van hoogwaardige schoolgebouwen. Dit programma, dat aangestuurd wordt door AG Real Estate, zet in op de samenwerking tussen de overheid en private partners om de kwaliteit, veiligheid en duurzaamheid van schoolgebouwen te garanderen.

We kijken er naar uit om GO! De Varens, een toekomstgerichte school, samen met AG Real Estate en GO! voor Scholen van Vlaanderen Perceel 1 te realiseren.
