Yesterday, the third and final day of our JOSKIN Safety Days took place in Soumagne. These meetings, which brought together local authorities, representatives from emergency services and civil defence, people from the agricultural sector and the press, provided an opportunity to present the modifications that can be made to agricultural equipment to make it useful for emergency response efforts during crises, such as the wildfires we experienced in Europe this summer.
With the right equipment, the slurry tankers already in use in our rural areas can, among other things, quickly transport, supply and spray large quantities of water, complementing firefightersโ professional resources and expertise โ
Field demonstrations have illustrated the potential of several water spraying systems, with ranges tailored to different needs.
Above all, these days provided an opportunity to share on-the-ground experiences, exchange knowledge and gain a better understanding of everyoneโs needs, all with a common goal: to develop simple, tailored and financially feasible solutions, while strengthening collaboration between the agricultural sector and emergency services.
